The property is a 500 hectares proprietary membership island resort located east of Luzon off Quezon province. Air travel in a private 37 seat aircraft is about 20 minutes. The resort has their own hanger and passenger lounge at the Manila airport for club members and their guests.

There are seven theme villages including Mikonos (Greek), Costa del Sol (Spanish) and Phuket (Thai). We stayed at a beachfront cottage at Phuket Village. Unique features include an outdoor day bed facing the ocean, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Actually two outdoor showers. One for beach goers and the other fenced in for privacy. The fenced in area is also used by Europeans for nude sunbathing.

We were briefed on security and cautioned not to reveal the details. You could go theme village to village by requesting for a golf cart and driver. Food was excellent. Membership programs and pricing is different. For guests, the airfare and one night stay per couple would be P24,000 excluding meals and activities. Our visit was as part of a wedding party.

Nice looking place!

At first read of the title I had thought you were meaning Basilan Island.

We'll be sure to visit when we're settled in Marinduque. I hope rates will be greatly reduced since they will not have to fly us in.

Just off Marinduque is a resort island called Bellarocca. From afar, it looks a lot like Santorini.

We went to Balesin Island Resort on a weekend and there were hardly anyone else except for the 30 couples from the wedding party. The developer is hoping to get the runway certified for international use with immigration and custom officials meeting arriving private planes from overseas. This will permit international members and guests to fly directly to the island, by passing Manila.

The theme villages remind you of Las Vegas.Think Venetian or New York, New York. My wife and I had a similar reaction. We have both seen the real thing, why bother with a small replica. The resort is worthy of a one time visit to satisfy your curiosity. It is not a place to frequent especially at the prices they charge members and guests.
