Robbed In Angeles Hotel

Details??? ha ha. :mocking: I met a bar girl in Angeles last time. Man she was fun and a wild thing. She was with me for a week. I missed my flight home one night, out bar hoping, ended up with 11 girls at Hi-Society, supposed to have left at 1am, when the hotel phoned me in the morning for check out, I just laughed, stuck around for a few more days.

When I came back to Angeles I was drinking with another girl and the first one came and found me, so she ended up with me for 2 weeks, If she wasn't so much fun, I'd switch daily. She was going to Cebu with me, but when I got up in the morning, she wasn't there, went to check my phone for time --- gone, checked wallet --- she left me anything under 100p, pretty decent of her to leave me breakfast money, computer -- gone. I went to the cops, figured bar girls are supposed to be safe, ID check. Two cops went with me to her bar, she wasn't there, 2 of her aunts and her cousin, and 2 of her best friends work there. They wouldn't tell me where she lives and the cops said they can't question relatives. WTF ??? Is that one for the records? :tiphat: :1 (103): :bash: :hystery:

What did the owner say? She'll be back, if not that bar, another. You could probably find her if you want. Then what? Lesson learned, hopefully.

I know some of the other girls in that bar, she's been back, I've got a sense of humour, I'm not angry or bitter, but I would give her a verbal. Don't know how you'd find anyone in the slums, do they have addresses? 25 doors down, over the ditch, first house with a roofing steel door?

That was a new cell phone and computer. Last time I went home Customs seized my other cell phone and computer. I spent 2 hours at the airport while they looked at them (nothing on them), 4000 pics of me and my Chinese GF in China, Hong Kong and Thailand. they decided to send them off and hack my Skydive etc. No kitty porn, hate literature etc. on them, now that pissed me off, F** Naz*s. I can't get an answer if or when I'll get them back. I didn't have to go through Customs this time, bet if I still had a cell phone and computer I would've and they'd have 2 sets of my stuff. I could write full pages of why I hate my country.

Ted,

The bar owner knows where all the girls live. Being able to find a thief working in his bar is the most important information he needs about each girl.

The Police can't ask her relatives any questions?  What kind of stupid reply is that?

Everyone in the bar including the Police was protecting the poor bar girl from the rich foreigner.

Did the Police even write a report so you can file charges against the girl?

Which Tour Guide did you use when you came to Carcar?  Did you use Kate who lives on Mactan and I referred to you?

A tour guide showing up at 2pm when you wanted to go in the morning is not acceptable even in the Philippines.

@ Americano, yes I used Kate.

Yep, I thought the police were useless and I did file a report, written in a book on the counter. The station said they keep that info in case they have another report. What could I do , tear the bar a part? Filing charges won't do anything, if I'm not there for court. I was really good and generous to this girl.

That bar girl may have been angry, I sneaked another girl on her??

Ted, it could well be jealousy, I think many women wouldn't be bargirls if they didn't have issues to begin with and if they didn't have issues in the beginning, the bar scene is a great place for issues to develop, but that may not be the root cause. I dated a stripper long ago and she didn't try to rip me off but her 15 year old son, did try, or they could have been in on it together. It didn't work because I am a cautious fellow. She did put a pound of sugar in the gas tank of my truck though when we broke up, cost me a $200 dollar deductable on my insurance when I turned in a claim for vandalism, but I got a rebuilt engine and new fuel system out of it, quite a bargain. The police in the states were no more interested than the police in the RP were for you.

Also, keep in mind that their job, their living depends on separating men from their cash, portable, high value posessions easily converted to cash aren't safe either. Then too, by staying with you, they learn when you are leaving and the best time to rip you off, when they are sure you won't have time to do anything about it. It could well be a tried and true, practiced, business manuever. Next time you are asked how long you are staying, I'd give a creative answer.

You are lucky you had clothes left, not because they wanted your clothes but because a man without clothes in a foreign country with practically no money has alot bigger fish to fry than where is his laptop and cell, I mean you would need help just to get to an ATM so you could buy clothes before you could even begin a search. Probably didn't take everything including your passport because they wanted you to be able to leave which would be the optimum result from their perspective.

Maybe the clothes trick has not filtered to the Philippines yet, it's been twenty years since I was first informed by a young guy that worked for me, that "if I ever" "do not separate from your pants". It sounded like the voice of experience. Finally I would recommend hotels with a lock box in your room, put excess cash and small valuables in it when you don't need them if you are going to have "company". Those boxes won't stop anyone with a crowbar but should keep your stuff from casually walking away. Keep key and wallet in your pants which you do not seperate from. I hope it wasn't a really nice laptop.

Agree, that would have prevented this whole episode.

I think she expected me to get up and get on my flight, instead I stayed and made a fuss. Agreed I could've been more cautious, thought bar girls were supposed to be safe. I had her for a week, contact for 2 months, then had her for 2 more weeks. It was a shock to wake up and realize what she did.
