JJReyes Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 You need to do it the Filipino way, which is to make a friend whose got a friend who has a source for cheap beer. Even bars have a multiple pricing systems offering discounts to their regular customers. You need to ask because the discount won't be automatically offered.

What is the best grocery store/liquor store to get the cheapest prices? How much? Just planning my budget. Thank you Depends what you want to drink, as in what brand of beer, at the local mall SML 330ml stubbies are 24 pesos ea, sari sari anything from 30-40 pesos, better bars and resto's 40- 65 pesos, you can buy a carton from the local supplier 500 pesos for 24. I am sure if you ask around you can get it cheaper. Bought a Gilbey's Vodka at the mall 147 pesos 700ml bottle, local brandy is around 90 pesos, so is rum, spirit's here are cheap but not a good selection, if you want to go up market be prepared to pay. One of those things, all depends how much and what you drink when planning a budget. Forgot to add, can get 1lt bottle of beer here in my gated community at one of the houses 70 pesos a bottle cold, is SML Pilsener, not a bad drop. Cheapest liquor you will find is Tanduay Rum (58p/750ml). Most expensive places to buy liquor/beer are the convenient stores (711). If you prefer high end liquor (Scotch, Bourbon) expect to pay at least 1000p/750ml and up. Glen Fiddich 12 year is going for about 2000p/750ml. Call me bubba Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) you should find a place that you feel safe & comfortable, if in the AC then goto the girly bars , if you want other expats i am sure you would pay slightly more than a local pinoy bar, however 1 would be wary of a bar like this. seems that they would recycle the beer. What is the best grocery store/liquor store to get the cheapest prices? How much? Cheapest 'bar' is always the local sari sari store with a table and chairs in front of it. Buy a grande (liter) for about 70 peso or a 300 ml bottle for 25 pesos then sit and drink and chat with the locals. Cheapest store is a bodega where you can buy it by the case. Still costs about 21 pesos per 300 ml bottle when buying by the case (price varies by location) Disclaimer. I cut way back on my drinking a while back so these prices may have gone up.
