What Are The Safe Questions To Ask A Filipina About Her Past.

I have the deepest respect and admiration for the fiancé I have in the Philippines, she has a 10 yr old son and I know some of he details about how she became pregnant.  And have also been given a lot of details about her past.  No bar girl work and many hard years of working in Manila with her son in Bohol with the grandparents.  What I am curious about and hopefully there will be some women answering this, are there topics to discuss and what questions would be insulting to a normal working Filipina?

Very much a "two sided coin".

On one side you have the "her past is what made her what she is today and be happy with that"

The other side is there may be something in her past that will come and bite you both on the arse in the future.

If you explain your reasoning for the questions in a conciliatory but straight forward manner most reasonable people (yeah I know :bash: ) shouldn't have a problem with this, even taking into account cultural differences.  Having said that, there are some lines that some people won't allow you to cross; you'll recognise it when you see it.

As for her being Filipina?  It's like saying the same of a woman from any country.  Boundries, whilst they do tend to have their broader basis in a larger cultural perspective, do come down to individual perspectives in the end i.e. there's no "one size fits all" anywhere.  So, if you're engaged to this lady, you're probably best suited to be the judge of how far you can go/push depending on how well you actually do know her.

Personally I'm a fan of full disclosure, mainly for the reasons explained by the second side of the coin.

You could do it one for one. You tell her about your first wife then she will tell you about her first husband. Then you tell her about your second wife and so on and so on.

Perhaps you should start with this question for yourself.  "Will I love her any less based on what information may come to light?"  If the answer is yes, maybe you are not really committed to the relationship at this time, or are having doubts?  If the answer is no, it may be best just to not pursue those type of questions?

Mike, I may not love her any less, but I may decide that I will not marry her or even be within 100 kilometers of her depending on what I find. I think one had better not turn a blind eye.

Its very common for almost every Filipina to get pregnant with or without a boyfriend or husband.  It seems like they don't know anything about birth control.  I'm not a woman but I believe you can ask her any question that does not imply that she did anything wrong.

Isn't that true about most women - from anywhere.  I would imagine age and weight would be off limits as well. :tiphat:
