Pressure Washer

Years ago I actually had good luck with one of the satchel sized electric pressure washers 2k psi. The on off switch soon failed but I installed a generic on/off switch and I used it for 6 years before I lent it out and it never came back. I even bought a jetter hose for cleaning drains. I got a lot of work out of it.

I think Steve hit the winning run!!!  But it can get tiring watching the worker outside whilst sipping a cold one.

OMW,

I have a power washer and seem to be using it less and less often now.  I used to use it for everything including the house.  My house is vinyl siding and I power washed it every spring.  That was until I found a house wash at the big box lumber store.  One cup of the wash and 5 cups bleach with water in a hand pump garden sprayer makes two gallons.  Spray it on, let it set a few minutes and hose it off.  Cleaned as good and a whole lot faster then the power washer.  Same goes for my retaining wall blocks.  Used to power wash every square inch which took nine hours over two days.  It was the only way to get the annual growth of moss and mold off,...so I thought.  I had tried the bleach mixture before with mixed results.  Finally, a few years ago I leaned the trick.  Wet everything down first, then spray on the cleaner mixture as before and hose it off.  It really worked!

Anyway, what I getting at, like others have said, there may be another way to do that cleaning without a power washer.  But if you have to have one because, I understand.   I have some because things myself.

Actually, that sounds good but how do I find the wash?  I think I have tried something like that on driveways but never mixed with bleach.  Also, do you have to be careful about getting it on plants?

If I can find another solution, I can use it.  I'll just continue to look at the gasoline power washers online or in catalogs, to fulfill my needs.

I really think the bleach is what does the work.  When I was young I remember my mother cleaning our carport and using the old leftover laundry water and she used tide.  Mixed it with some bleach, and scrubbed it a little with the corn whisk broom.   Even as a kid I remember how amazed I was at how clean it looked when she finished.  So I think any soap should work mixed with the bleach.  When I run out of the cleaner here, I use the cheapest liquid soap I can find at the dollar store along with brand x bleach.  Works for me.  As for the plants, the instructions recommend either covering them or wetting them before and after a good rinsing after finished in that area.  We had a lot of flowers and shrubs and I never lost any.
