On a more serious note OM52, keep a lookout for any locals with a new 'Afro style' hairdo for the first time.

He is a prime suspect to be the thief, as he has forgotten to turn the light switch off before screwing in the 

said light bulb!

And why in the US most public cr's the paper is put into the type of container that only allows you to remove so much and not the whole roll or otherwise it would be just like here .... gone ....

Theft deterrent .... bougainvillea planted under or around something you don't want stolen .... (outside of course not in the cr ..... ) ....

I'm sure some welding shop can devise something that has a split cage so you can just open it with maybe screwdriver or locked .... tried doing a search on DDGo but no luck ....

As to renters removing the bulbs when they leave .... well we do the same thing except we replace the owners bulbs with our own expensive ones and than but theirs back when we leave .... point in question we have an outside bulb that turns on and off by itself we sure the hell ain't gonna leave that here when we move ....

At our hotel in Alabang, Yvonne dropped a hair clip in a seat by the elevator.  It was there the next day.  She said:  You can sure tell the difference between rich and poor people.  In a poor area of town that hair clip would be gone in 5 minutes and in this rich man's hotel nobody even cares about it.

Same for tp in Canadian CRs.  If you are using the restroom that the Greyhound bus stops at then the tissue will be stolen by one of the first 3 people to use it.  But it a classy joint there will never be a problem.
