Something is strange though. It used to be that during this time of year in Riyadh one could feel the searing heat even during the wee hours of the morning. But it's cool in the early mornings here nowadays and most people notice it.

May 2016 was the warmest May on record for the earth according to NASA.

I didn't realise NASA had been around for the four and a half billion years the earth has.

That's true Skyskyper--I've been seeing 77degrees/25 these same days when I wake up early morning. How quickly the temp can climb though!

And according to NOAA that honor is reserved for sometime in our ancient past:

Quote

Our planet probably experienced its hottest temperatures in its earliest days, when it was still colliding with other rocky debris (planetesimals) careening around the solar system. The heat of these collisions would have kept Earth molten, with top-of-the-atmosphere temperatures upward of 3,600° Fahrenheit.

Yea definitely pays to stay in the aircon if possible. Now Friday and looks like it's getting a good start again for a hot and very humid day. Guess it's still better than snow. I've had enough of that stuff to last a lifetime.
