It doesn't bring back those he killed in so gruesome a manner but I think he was stealing oxygen and food that might be put to a better purpose, besides if he was just locked up, people would have had to support him still, feed him, do his laundry, keep him warm, provide light and fresh water, pay his medical bills. No, he didn't merit such largess, in my opinion. But if you want to personally pay for it? I'm ok with that.
