Wow Tim, maybe there's hope yet for me finding them here. There's a chocolate sweet potato cake that I used to love to bake, so that's mainly why I've been searching.:smile:

I have seen the camotes / sweet potato and they are good. I actually like the turnips I get in the Philippines better than those in the US and in season they are cheaper than potato but can be substituted in many dishes.

Yeah, the ube ice cream is good.  It is a root crop, and an actual yam (sweet potatoes are not yams, actually sweet potatoes are not even potatoes).  The ube has a thick, tough, kind of hairy, skin.  But even the locals here will mistakenly call the small purple sweet potato an ube. Just like in the US we called the orange sweet potato a yam...
