Another Age Gap Post - Funny!

So Janet and I are watching Netflix the other night. "Rising Sun" is a mediocre thriller but I love Sean Connery, so we watched it. The basic premise and mystery behind the story is pretty basic and bland. 

After the mystery is solved, Wesley Snipes drops off Connery for a round of golf with the Japanese businessmen. He then picks up the hot videographer (Tea Leoni) who was helping them in the investigation. He's hitting on her and suddenly I get the final "reveal." He drops her off at home all the while trying to convince her that they should get together. The home he drops her off at is Sean Connery's - she's Connery's mystery girlfriend, referenced a few times in the movie. Janet is not quite understanding. "She's Sean Connery's girlfriend," I tell her. "That's the final mystery."

Janet screams, "You mean the old guy!" 

I fall down laughing, "Yes the old guy," I respond. "Who was about my age when they made this movie, while she was about your age."

"But he's so old!"

"He's also Sean Freaking Connery," I laugh.

My wife spent the rest of the night rationalizing and apologizing. Life is good!

Ha ha ha.  That's funny. 

But see?!  Age DOES matter to Filipinas!  The truth eventually comes out.

It is a strange dynamic, to be sure.  But those of us who have been through hell and high water with a younger one know that it matters less than all the other factors of a relationship.

Good story, davewe.  I can totally relate!
