As a young man I used to go for much longer than that without a beer. In Alberta we have a cure for it call Whiskey. Some of our whiskey (like Wisers 18 year old or Crown Royal Reserve) is as good as Scottish whiskey. (I took some with me to Scotland long ago and had taste tests with the locals. It is spelt with an e in Irish and other national brands.
