Yea the do. Problem is they keep the ports open as long as possible and weather changes quickly. Other times the Capt of a ship will leave anyway even after a port closes. Happened twice in Masbate that I know of.

In the big picture, it can be quite a problem as some people have an important reason to travel island to island by sea as there is no other way. My nephew, a PO 1 now, had to go to Iloilo quite often for his criminology processing and now he is stationed temporarily there but lives here.

I agree but it is what it is and must/should be done safely. Po's that need to be somewhere have the Coast Guard Cutter to call if it is that important I am sure :smile:

Well she just turned.She had to go to Oslob and get the cargo ship there.When she went over to Dalaguete is was a very calm day.

There has been so many times that he was unable to make it home on his days off, that now he has a wife and a kid in both places.
