Observations About Philippine Dining

Well, let me count the ways of Filipino eating habits or culture:

Slurping a bowl of soup -- could be Chinese or Japanese culture to show appreciation to the cook

Burping out loud -- possibly the same reason above

Using a knife and fork to eat pizza.  I still fold mine in half and shove it down my throat, using my hands

Covering your mouth while using a toothpick but you can go outside to the nearest wall and do your thing

Use both hands to draw a rectangle (bill) to show the waitress you're ready to pay

You need to stand your ground as you move forward in the buffet line (be aggressive like driving)

Anything else?

Your dinner with friends at the resto arrives at various intervals and then before eating the ladies must all take countless pics on their mobile phones while the feast goes stone motherless cold, me I just order another SML and pray that I get a cold one that matches dinner, glad I ate at home before we came

Rice and lechon get scooped up by hand...but pizza requires utensils!

I've noticed that Ketchup is not a condiment, but a sauce that is poured liberally over just about anything - including pizza!

I had the pleasure of walking around a fish market where you select the fish and they cook it in front of you. After an hour of watching them handle each fish and haggle over the price before walking over to the next stall and continuing the actions I ended up telling them I'm off for a Pizza. I never did find out how long they were selecting but next day they said the fish wasn't very tasty. My pizza was just fine.
