Seriously?  The main guy at the one and only lighting store here does not know that?  I really can't find much on the subject.  I found this that touches on it.  If you have any links, let me know.

Are there screw-in LEDs that are compatible and made for the recessed application?  Not a kit; just the bulb.

Yes, there are specific bulbs for recessed fixtures. The ones we have looked about the same as a standard screw in type to me. The box should specify if it is or not. 

The guy may not have a clue or just wanted to make a sale... more fun!
