live on the government tit.

This has gotten even easier. Ontario has came out with a 3 year project for 4,000 people in 3 cities of a guaranteed income of $17,000 for single and $24,000 for a couple. You get to keep half of any income that you make on top of that.

Jeez, by the time you guys get here I will have had my fun and moved to an old codgers home in Canada.  Come young, live fun and fast, wear it out with hard use, then go back west and live on the government tit.  Waiting until you are past it to move here seems silly to me.

Couldn`t agree more.

Thank you all for your input and advice. We would like to move there sooner than that and maybe we will. We are still pretty young and trying to figure out just how much money we would need to feel comfortable making the move. We visit for two weeks every year at Christmas and I really like the place. We got married in the Phils 15 years ago and stayed there for a couple months. It was probably the best time in my life. The only complaint for me is that it is hard to get used to the noise so late at night everywhere. Thinking about opening a small business and see if that gives us a little more confidence in moving there.

While common it is far from 'everywhere', unless you include local festivals and holidays like New Years etc. Some places are loud every night, some just a few nights a year.

Moving in 15- 20 years time,

I wonder how many changers there will be by then,

If one looks back 15-------20 years, my guess would be next to nothing.
