How about PG on a $1000/m?

I currently live in China. Have done for 10 years. Tired of this joint.

 

Would $1000/m suffice for a comfortable life in PG (been there 3 times). Rent + food + the others.

Probably Puerto Galera? The second thing is, is that $USD, AUS, CAD and so on. Is that $1,000 After Immigration costs? After that is what kind of accommodation you are looking for? It is a tourist area after all.

It would depend on how you define "comfortable". 

Many here survive on less and are comfortable.  

It all depends on your needs and your wants.
