Do what you want when you want to suit your life requirements, be mindful of your surroundings, politically, economically and local social norms, easy peasy really. That pretty much sums it all up BigPearl! Hope you get here soon! Edited August 2, 2017 by Queenie O.

Back and forward Queenie, but life and a job I love holds me here/other countries, committed and content ATM, my life and a job I love, not many worship their employment but I do, the challenges and achievements keeps me gainfully employed but within 2 years we will be living our life in PH, probably working O/S after we settle, but a life choice and constant challenges/achievements keeps me active and fulfilled providing this works for the better half also when I supposedly retire. Retire? Nope, just a different direction in a cruiser lifestyle. Cheers, Steve.
Popular Post MikeB Posted August 5, 2017 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2017 I retired in 2011 and 2 weeks later I was in the Phils for good. “For good” turned out to be a bit more than 5 years. It was a shock not to have anything urgent to do. Much more so because I went directly from one cultural extreme to another in a couple weeks. I came to realize I had created a lot of the urgency myself, they were self-imposed deadlines. It took a few years to get over that and finally get to the point where I could do literally nothing and be ok with that. Returning to the US I noticed how much more judgmental people are about clothes and appearance. That’s one big thing I miss from the Phils where anything goes and nobody cares (a generalization). But looks and image become less important as we age and health much more so. Staying alive is kind of critical.
Clermont Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 One of my problems when I get over there is going to be, walking with PI, gee they walk slow, maybe I just might have to stay drunk, I'm a slow walker when drunk. 1

Are you referring to the head down slipper shuffle? My wife keeps up to me all the time, even with our dog pulling ahead but our daughters and mother walk real slow. Our daughters because of their phones and our mother because she is 86.7 years old. 2
Clermont Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Yeah wife still clenches the peso's tight in the fist, I don't mind walking though, gives me time to admire the curvature of the scenery as they walk past. I'm allowed to admire but not touch or I'm a bakla.

On our third date we hiked up to the top of Mt. St. Thomas just outside of Baguio. And she was in front with me trying to keep up. And after 4 years together we still go out together for long walks/hikes.
Gary D Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Mine would walk as far as the nearest trike. When she arrived in the UK she was in for a shock. 1
