Interesting Scott, probably agree, but was surprised at the number of Asian countries in the figures.

I see a number of "issues" with the accuracy of the study.

Yes, it is BS.

Climate also plays a part.  Hong Kong has climate good for walking in many months and has good mass transit systems that people walk to.  Philippines is hot and humid and the transit system is basically a "hop on, hop off" system that you get on anywhere.

If the people who did this "study" actually came here and "studied" the people, the results may have been quite different.  I am always amazed at the number of people that I see walking, especially when in Cebu City.  How many countries have street vendors who spend the entire day walking through intersections trying to sell water, cigarettes, fruit, etc?  How many countries have men carrying a chairs or other furniture for kilometer after kilometer hoping to find a buyer?

Exactly I see a man on a peddle trike collect scrap metal and he has to push it from just after Hypermart until Valencia which I see him doing quite often and that is a distance of about 6 KM.There is another man I see selling honey and he walks many miles each time he goes out.Not a very good survey at all.Funny isn`t it the survey was conducted by people sitting behind a computer so who is lazy haha

No one mentioned the school kids walking for miles to school and back nor the farmers ploughing their paddocks behind wheel tractors. That's only a couple, think on it and it might surprise you how many more occupations that require walking and manual work. But: here it is, there are a lot of lazy buggers too, so in all fairness not much different from the rest of the world.

I can vouch for my on the way out partner getting some exercise. She chased me around Sabang this morning then followed me to Cavite. I finally lost her by running along the road for about a mile with her chasing after me screaming. She eventually gave up but not before I was soaking in sweat. :mocking:
