stevewool Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 There are those who are retired a long time ago and are use to it, and then there is the new ones who has no idea what is about to happen to them. Years ago only the rich could retire before there official date to finish work, but with private pensions and savings it is no possible for the working class to join these retirees doing what they do best. So what does it feel like to say no more work and do what you want when you want too, is it worrying at first or is it worrying all the time or is it a case where life is just great.
Castaway Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 It feels great to no longer have a boss to please in order to get by with money. Although I didn't care for retired life back in the States, I find that my retired life is much more enjoyable in the Philippines. 2
Tukaram (Tim) Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 I always knew I was meant to be retired. Too bad I had to wait until I was 48 to quit work. They wanted me to waste my whole life working? I love it. There is nothing I miss about working. My dad hated retirement, but he always identified as his job, I did not. 3

Lou49 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Retirement can be boring. You have to find a way to stay busy and interested. And having fun costs money😀.
Popular Post expatuk2014 Posted October 8, 2017 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2017 Once your retired you have to keep the old brain ticking over. My father only lived for 3 yrs after his retirement, all he did was sit in his armchair and watch the tv ! Myself i play games on my tablet which i have to think about. I also go to the yard sales and buy a few things that are not working, clocks, radios, toys etc Which i take apart and try and get working. We also eat out a lot as im retired and so is the wife. But she being a Filipino she still washes clothes by hand even though we a newish washing m/c She also Sweeps the garden and the road ! Every morning. You have to keep the brain tickng over .
Forum Support Old55 Posted October 8, 2017 Forum Support Posted October 8, 2017 One of the few times I can provide a useful answer. Steve, remember the post you made several days ago detailing the issues you were having at work and how you were starting to loose it? I think you may have answered your own question. 2 1
