 You would have been rude NOT to have mentioned this  But in All seriousness at least you know you are not being Dupped in anyway  There have been reports of Dubious Inspectors asking for the Deposit at an Inspection, of course only fools would Pay it

They require a deposit in Australia for your first electric account which is reimbursed after a period of time so same thing by the look of it.

when we built our house we had an inspector come in and he didn't seem to even know what a circuit box was. APEC Charges per outlet but a negligible charge . not enough to worry about.

Also the law of averages says that there is a 25% chance that the inspector is a "cousin".
