Fire hits Metro Gaisano Ayala Cebu Friday, January 05, 2018 Ads by Kiosked CEBU. A fire hit Metro Ayala Center Cebu Friday evening, January 5, 2018. (Photo by Precious Grace Gandia) CEBU (Updated) -- Authorities have raised the fire alarm in Metro Ayala Center Cebu to Task Force Alpha, as black smoke continues to billow from the department store's third floor as of 11 p.m. Friday, January 5. Task Force Alpha means that all fire stations, including those of neighboring cities, shall respond to the alarm. Police and responders from villages have also responded, along with members of emergency rescue units. As of 11:10 p.m., firefighters are still trying to put out the fire. The Bureau of Fire Protection said it received the alarm around 10 p.m., in time for the mall's closing. But Metro Gaisano said in a statement sent to SunStar that the smoke was detected at the toys stockroom in the building's third floor around 9:30 p.m. "The Metro Ayala Emergency Brigade Team and Ayala Center Cebu Emergency Brigade Team are working with the Bureau of Fire (Protection) and other emergency response teams to manage the situation. All customers and personnel were safely evacuated," the Metro Gaisano management said. Authorities advised the public to avoid the Ayala Center Cebu area as of 11 p.m. due to thick smoke. Below is a live report by Johanna Marie Bajenting of SunStar Cebu. (SunStar Philippines)

Yes and may take two days to extinguish.  In this video you can see they are using an excavator with a jack hammer but the machine is still on the back of the truck for height. In Aus you would be shot for doing that.

Metro Ayala fire may last for 2 days

IT MIGHT take two days for firefighters to control the blaze that hit Metro Ayala Center Cebu Friday evening, an official said. Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office Chief Nagiel Bañacia said that as of 3 a.m. Saturday, firefighters who managed to enter the mall's building are still working hard to stop the fire from spreading to the main mall area. The blaze started at the toys stockroom in the third floor of the Metro Ayala department store around 9:30 p.m. Friday, January 5, said the Metro Gaisano management in a statement. The Bureau of Fire Protection raised the alert level to Task Force Alpha, which means fire trucks from nearby cities have to respond. As of 3 a.m. Saturday, the fourth floor of the Metro Ayala building has collapsed, said Bañacia.

He said that heat from the fire inside is making the building brittle, and authorities are afraid the structure might collapse. With this, authorities have extended the cordon area for the public's safety. No one was trapped inside the building, as customers and personnel were safely evacuated Friday night, said the mall management.

Well it's still billowing smoke I can see. Some reports say the 4th floor has collapsed but I dont know if its just in the department store. Also they have said the sprinklers did not work.

Added

Appears to be contained to department store but I guess there will be a lot of water damage.
