Yes and no.  They operate a trip from Cebu to Brunei and you can connect to other destinations BUT

Royal Brunei (BI3358)
operated by Philippine Airlines

Whenever I've seen Royal Brunei advertised it alway seems to be something like 36 hour from the UK to Manila. We flew Singapore airlines some years ago and did a two night stopover in Singapore. Very nice flight if a bit long as Singapore is getting south of Manila so you fly past and have a longish trip back to Manila. We flew Cathay Pacific yesterday via Hong Kong for the first time and they were ok. I think Qatar is still my favourite.

Is Singapore Air the one that missing a plane and a plane is missing  are synonymous?

One in ocean and one in  Ukraine?

No, that was Malaysia Airlines. MH17 shot down over the Ukraine and MH 370 disappeared between KL and Beijing.

Singapore Airline service is excellent. Depending on the aircraft size, the carrier has 1 to 3 additional flight attendants compared to US based airlines. The response to passenger needs is much faster.  It is our preferred carrier for Los Angeles to Tokyo flights.

Diversifying just a tad, I have checked the rates for transit hotels in Changi and was flabbergasted. Wow do the hit one hard.

Perhaps some worldly traveler out there knows of a hotel near by where one could spend 9---10 hours with the bank breaking.

Singapore is known for its very expensive hotels. There are some cheap hotels in the changi area which is a short cab ride from the airport.  Its been a while, but Hotel 81 was always the budget hotel option when i lived in SG. Although from what I have heard i believe the '81' refers to the average length of a guests stay (in minutes) or the number of bed bugs per square cm!  Whichever it was, its not good.  I would just stay in the airport ..... as far as long layovers go, Singapore is probably the best place to be.

Yes, very expensive.  The transit hotels in the airport were fully booked so we stayed at the Capri by Fraser just outside the airport for about $172!  It is a very short taxi ride.  They do have a free shuttle but with our kids, the taxi was fast and cheap.
