Goldheart,Thanks for sharing the information. Below are Cebu City hospital and doctor information I've collected from several RP sites over the past year or so.Tom in big DAMBULANCE - EMERGENCY 161 for the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF), based in Cebu City and Mandaue City with several ambulances, well- equiped, well-trained Paramedics. 340-2994 for the Lapu-Lapu ERUF in Mactan; 233-9300 for the Banilad ERUF in Mandaue or western Cebu City. 254-1461 for Chong Hua 253-7511 for Cebu Doc 233-8620 for Perpetual. Best way - rush patient to hospital in your own vehicle. Turn on hazard indicators, put headlights on high beam, keep hand pressed down on the horn, drive on the opposing lane if there's a traffic jam. The Cebuano driving public are used to this and will - to a degree - make way for you, and you will not get busted by the police.HOSPITALS Three large world-class hospitals in Cebu: Chong Hua, Cebu Doc, and Perpetual. Below are Cebu City hospital and doctor information I've collected from several RP sites over the past year or so.

Tom, Thanks for sharing this. I will definitely try some of these doctors as I have a few other minor problems that I should have looked into. I can't find my diaretic prescription here and need to get a local equavlent provided. I also want to see if I can get my borderline blood pressure treated more aggressively than my doctor in the US was doing.Yesterday I visited Dr. Dy as I had contracted as case of swimmers ear. I had gotten into a good habit of swimming every day and unfortunately did not properly clear my ear of water one day. I understand the heat and humidty here provide some conditions that make it more prevalent here. I also do scuba on occassion and this ear infection is something that never happened to me before. The blockage in the ear was building and beginning to get painful.Dr. Dy was quite effective, knowledgeable and professional. I called for the appointment at 9AM was told to come at 11:30 AM. The wait was reasonable - 30 minutes. He drained my ear in his office. He prescribed the medications that I read on the web were appropriate except he also prescribed an oral anti-biotic which some believe may not be necessary. I think they are more agressive with treatments here as viruses may tend to flourish in the tropical environment. He indicated I should return if not cleared by Wed. I was impressed with his services and more impressed with the cost -- 900 pesos for the office visit. Less than a US co-pay.Unfortunately, I can't swim for a week and I will miss it very much.
