  1. It's a question of culture to a point. In a lot of Asian countries, when the man and woman have a baby but don't stay together, it's often the man who keeps the kids, even if it is his aunty and mother raising them. I saw it a lot in Taiwan and Korea where a girlfriend of mine or a friend's had kids, but wasn't allowed to see them. I also have a male friend who divorced his wife recently in Taiwan and he kept the kids. My wife had two kids with her ex and they lived with his family while she was gone. Unless I decided to support them, they would've stayed with him. That said, he's now had a ba

  2. Well, there are a lot of extremely poor and extremely fanatical religious countries around the world where young people are not permitted to even hold hands, or girls can't go out alone (or to school). I mean if we're going to talk about morals, let's talk about freedom first. Sure, they probably don't have a lot of single mothers and out of wedlock babies in Saudi Arabia. What they do have are a lot of public executions by stoning, beheading, or just plain old lashing. What's immoral about doing what you want? Morality and intelligence are completely different. There's nothing wrong with havi

  3. Dang Ed, when I read your comments, I became sick as well......he, he. The drama continues with thislink about a civil suit filed against Arroyo: http://newsinfo.inqu...n-to-sue-arroyo One of the famous "have pity in me" was when Imelda M displayed bruises on her knees claiming shecrawled down the church aisle in support of the poor people. I wonder which pair of shoes (out of 3,000pairs) that she wore for that circus drama? Jake

Subject: Coconut Oil and Alzheimer's DiseaseCoconut Oil and Alzheimer's Disease! How worried should drug companies be about supplements eating into their monopoly profits?A lot, as this story will show. Please share it with anyone you know who is suffering from Alzheimer's or is worried about it.Of course, just about everyone worries about Alzheimer's. It currently afflicts 5.2 million people in the US and is the seventh leading cause of death. The cost of treating it is estimated at $148 billion. Mary Newport, MD, has been medical director of the neonatal intensive care unit at Spring Hill Reg

  5. Not a rant...........I think you make some very good points! Choices have consequences many times Filipino and Foreigner men will impregnate their girlfriend and just walk away without regard for their child. How can that be? The consequences are obvious, the majority of those illegitimate children born out of wedlock with a single parent to raise them, will now grow up and or have grown up with a lot of screwed up moral values or none at all, they're on their own to develop some somehow!

  6. According to the report, the fake mug shot has photo shopped booking numbers. The actual photoof Arroyo appears to be the same in either photo. Looks guilty in both cases....he, he. Jake

  7. Labor costs are the real savings. I built a place out on Samar and 11 men cost me less than $60 a day! Depends on what you want to build. Nipa house can be less than $2000. A concrete block house can be built for less than $25,000 with hot water and air con.... If you are on a budget, assess the lot size and then design a building you can add on to later. Build with you can and then as money is available, add on rooms or floors. If you are thinking of living there. Build a 3-4 story building and 1 floor is for you. The others make rooms for rent and this will supplement your income and your gr

  9. seems very strange.Whenever a local official is under an investigation, about to be "arrested",or faces some type shame or disgrace. BAMM these "humans"(cough cough) seem to get very sick, start to have "heart problems",loose bowel movements, dizziness, etc etc...need i saw more.. What could be the cause? BUT ITS SO WEIRD/STRANGE as soon as the investigation, scandal is over. a miracle occurs or the "prayers" have been answered by a higher power(cough cough)they are healed, illness has been a "misinterpretation" of other symptoms. and they do on with their lives as nothing has ever happen..has

  10. Maybe the OFW effect? People being supported at home by invisible parents or family members with invisible jobs, while those behind are on occasion, prone to laziness, dishonesty, and greed. On the other hand, those who are honest workers in the Philippines work their butts off for peanuts, so don't have the time OR money to influence their kids right. Where's the motivation?

Mr. Lee wrote: "If people wish to learn and are willing to take up my time but not take the energy to at least try to do their homework by reading the forum and asking questions then I sometimes run out of time for them as well. I feel that life is a two way street and the least people can do is try to help others with what they have learned over time, and if no one is willing to do that then many more people will end up unhappy with the Philippines and anything related to it including their wives or gf's. IMO if we love our wives or gf's and like the people of the Philippines then the least w

  12. Just in a simple and generalized language, the moral values of an individual is due to one’s up bringing by their parents, grand parents, aunts or uncles whatever the case maybe! It’s money that affects one’s attitude and behavior! Moral values have been embedded in the minds of the majority of people everywhere in the world from their up bringing and it’s the taste of money that changes their attitudes and behaviors and not their moral values, because that stays forever in one‘s mind and soul, which we may call our conscience knowing from right and wrong! The saying "you don't need money to f
