  1. Any time, just let me know ahead of time, so I can get a truck to deliver enough beer, hopefully I have set aside enough peso for this.

  3. We bought it from Advanced Property Development and Management Holdings Inc. The remaining balance we financed through them for 5 years. So the wife will get the title after that 5 years. Advanced Property bought up several lots in McArthur Village and are building homes just like ours. We have added air con, water tank, stove with an oven, washing machine, shelfing throughout the house, couch with recliner, 2 love seat with recliner (one in my man cave), table with chairs, 2 50 inch TVs (one in my man cave), king size bed with frame, two door refrigerator and a few other items.

  4. I have been very lucky and have seldom had problems with street kids. There is a youngster that hangs around the 7-11 where I go have my coffee and read my paper. If he is sitting outside I will always buy a coke for him and sometimes give him a 20 also. I have not been to PH since Nov. and sometimes I think of how he is doing. There is also a young kid (these boys are probably 8-11) that hangs around Makati Ave by Wendy"s? Market Market. I have slippet him a 20 on occasion also. Both these boys did approach me first maybe 4 years ago and now if we see each other they will try to catch my eye,

  7. I totally get the argument for relaxing lockdowns because they damage business and people's ability to earn an income. But wearing a mask is easy and simple and not wearing one at public gatherings is just selfish.

  11. Have never experienced older kids ( Teenagers ) begging in groups but for the younger ones a smile and a show of kindness they quickly disappear with the spoils. By kindness, I mean some fruit at the nearby stall or bread seems to work, but careful not to give or show money.

  12. Olivia and I bought a house in Malolos. Moved in on 1 October 2020. It is only 119 sqm, but it is big enough for us, new home. 3 bedroom, 3 CRs. PLDT 2.4 G fiber internet. Got hooked up with Armed Forces Network, get 9 channels, American news, sports, TV shows, it only cost me the for the box and setup, have to renew each year, but it is free. One of the bedrooms is my man cave. About 20 minute walk to Vista Mall, 5 minute walk to get a hair cut, still exploring what is near the house. Got the house furnished, minor updates to the house. It is in a sub-division, McArthur Village.

  15. Police in London dispersed a Wedding reception yesterday of 100 people. None were wearing masks, none were social distancing and the Venue now face a £10.000 fine! Possible they all felt well and didn't see the reason to act any differently, is that selfishness or what? It's not panic, it's concern for both the Elderly or the more vulnerable in society. If the ecomomy is a major factor then expect the " Herd Immunity" were only the strongest survive.

  20. Although my heart goes out to street children keep in mind the younger ones are sometimes used by criminal syndicates and have minders nearby watching them and you. Alumana005, as a Filipino do the street children ever attempt to steal from you?

  21. Or worse - a knife in your gut with many witnesses willing to shout self-defence in favour of the street kid. Just turn the other cheek and accept the loss of pride and get away from the place.

  22. Be very aware of your surroundings and your possessions.. put them into deep pockets or hold on tight to them... or better yet, if you know where you go there will be street children bring the minimum that you need.. One way around the problem is to walk fast.. as in foreigner fast.. kids give up if they think " its too much trouble", hes walking too fast for me. The kids themselves if still young arent too much trouble but the hungry angry teenager who thinks nothing of getting very close, abusive and in your face angry can be much more of a problem. 24. Same here, sits over my shoulder and in front of me with a zipper closure. You are supposed to be able to buy knife resistent ones but I couldn't see any in CDO last year. I copied the idea from SWMBO's papa who's been using one for as long as I've known him. Carrying a bag... even a 'man' bag did take a bit of getting used to I admit

  27. The UK manchester server unblocks BritBox, I'm a bit surprised that it doesn't unlock BBC iplayer but it is a continual tug of war between the VPN companies and the content providers.

  28. Great minds think alike GeoffH, I tried SurfShark but it couldn't unblock BBC iplayer, the main reason to have a VPN. I had expressvpn for 12 months and that unblocked BBC iplayer but at $6 it's above my budget. There's a few that claim they unblock BBC iplayer. I will wait till I get my refund from Surfshark, they said it will take 7 to 10 days. Not holding my breath.

  31. If they go to the cops (which they will never do), the cops will likely give them another smack. Years ago it was much worse with the beggars and pickpockets, but the cops started going after the parents and now it's barely an issue. Just ignore them, you aren't doing them any favors and in fact can get in trouble for giving them anything. The only exceptions are the ones who are "working", selling things like those flower bracelets or towels, I always buy whatever they have.

  32. I'm on the fence here and I'm not sure we know the whole story. I'm not one to shoulder the government with training people to fill those positions. The government does not do many thing well. What they can do, through legislation, is encourage business to train, instead of outsourcing. When business gets in the outsourcing mood, they have a hard time going back, even if they are raking in profits. I would say that the H-1B program might be a disincentive to train and promote within. This is a good article: https://mondo.com/tech-talent-shortage-lie/ So have I. In the early

  33. Only likely to experience such stuff in big cities such as Manila. I wear a 'fishing jacket' So many pockets, they don't know which one to pick (because that is what they are actually up to). Avoid dubious areas, red-light districts and the like, if you want to avoid this kind of situation. Would you wander around such places in your home country ? Shouldn't be a problem now anyway... as 'kids' under 21 are not allowed out of their home...supposedly.

  34. Those A10s were built in my hometown, Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown, Md. My grandfather and father both worked there. Enjoyed watching them flying overhead on their test runs as they came off the line. Also the flying boxcar C119. Loved to hear those engines warmed up during testing after rebuilds.

  36. Give Surfshark a try, they're reliable and offer good speeds plus they even offer multi-hop server connections for higher security links. I used Express for the last few years (and they are good) but I got SurfShark through a deal 12 months ago. It has run without any more issues than Express VPN for the last 6 months and when my yearly Express VPN came due a couple of months back I didn't bother renewing and I've just been using SurfShark. Be aware if you want to use bit torrent for downloading it will send you to a few special torrent servers, you can't just download torrents on y

  38. There is truth in what you write. A while ago I googled to see who I might know (celebrities and such) that died of Covid. I was astonished to see that all the dead were victims of "complications" of Covid. By that I mean the same complications that would have arisen if they had a very bad flu which turned to pneumonia or something similar. I do not want to get a bad flu, but neither do I like it when the world shuts down. I believe facemasks, distancing, and similar precautions are the best way to prevent the spread of any flu-like illness. The rest of the stuff, like quarantining everyo

  40. Yeah the DOH recommended to stay in MGCQ until mid December so everyone can have a good holiday season. The Cebu city Mayor has no problem with the current lock down until that time but I ask who will have money to have a good Christmas/holiday season by then? Nonsense and why?
