  1. Bought tickets way back when I was sure quarantines would be history by Christmas. The most I could tolerate would be 3 days. It's probably a waste of time to worry about it until a week before departure.
  2. For people whose homes are on a different island than the airport, will they have to do more quarantine at a hotel? They won't be allowed to us a ferry boat when they're supposed to be in quarantine.
  3. Someone who would buy a house without a thorough inspection deserves what they get.
  4. You should treat all the Plumerias proactively. This sort of thing can be difficult or impossible to see in the initial stages.
  5. He shouldn't need a chainsaw for Plumeria. But if it starts to spread to the other Plumerias and treatments don't work, eliminating the infested plants would be sensible.
  6. It's past time for him to retire from boxing. Wonder how much education he's had.
  7. Looks like a fungus. An agricultural supply store should have an appropriate antifungal spray. If you can't find that, try vinegar on a few leaves and see what happens. Hope you can save it. Plumeria flowers have the best and the most fragrance.
  8. That one would be funny if the wife wore it, but her sense of humor doesn't extend to risque behavior.
  9. Malwarebytes says "Website blocked due to trojan." I prefer natural sources of vitamin C. In the past there has been some controversy over natural vs synthetic vitamin C. Specifically, synthetic C may not be as effective.
  10. Been wondering if we could help defray the cost by selling access to our router to the neighbors. Another question- could we pay for it only during the 6 months of each year that we plan to be in the Phils? Probably not, but it can't hurt to ask.
  11. I've found Kalimansi to be a very good treatment for colds/flu. Don't just ask for Kalimansi juice- ask for strong Kalimansi juice.
  12. If you are lucky. If you fly into Bohol you only need a recent test. There is no more quarantine. The rest of the country has restricted entry and quarantines. Back in May I thought the Philippines would open up to tourists by Christmas 2021. Now Christmas of 2022 seems like a better guess.
  13. The 5 day quarantine requirement for incoming travelers in Bohol has been lifted. https://boholislandnews.com/2021/09/08/gov-lifts-5-day-quarantine-repeat-rt-pcr-for-arriving-travelers-here/ There was a meeting of tourism stakeholders and the mayor in Panglao. Apparently they have suffered enough. The mayor came out of the meeting saying the 5 day quarantine would be eliminated. Two days later the governor followed suit.
  14. "That doesn’t mean there isn’t a conspiracy that’s killing those infected with COVID-19. There is. It’s the one pushing ivermectin as a miracle cure. That false idea is getting people killed." from https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2021/9/3/2050134/-Ivermectin-is-NOT-a-highly-effective-treatment-for-COVID-19?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_fark "Oklahoma's ERs are so backed up with people overdosing on ivermectin that gunshot victims are having to wait to be treated, a doctor says." From https://www.insider.com/oklahomas-emergency-rooms-are-clogged-with-people-overdosing-on-ivermectin-2021-9?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_fark
  15. As I sometimes say to to my wife rather than waste more time and energy arguing, "yes dear, whatever you say dear."
  16. Erm.... WHAT?! As more people are vaccinated there are fewer people to function as petri dishes for the virus to reproduce and mutate in. More vaccinated people -> fewer mutations.
  17. I asked a horse if I should take Ivermectin. He said "Nay". Wise horse.
  18. Here's today's Ivermectin article. People who want to take Ivermectin may be too stupid to live. https://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/no-ivermectin-is-not-making-people-poop-out-rope-worms-the-truth-is-much-worse/ "As you’ve probably guessed, the “rope worms” that people have reported after taking ivermectin are caused by the same thing: their intestines being attacked by a massive dose of, essentially, poison. Veterinary-grade ivermectin – there is a version made for humans, but it comes in much lower doses – is causing their guts to shed its protective mucusy lining. To the untrained eye, these strands of human tissue may look like worms, but in fact they’re a sign that something is terribly wrong."
  19. Catch up on sleep, read, write, websurf, play online poker, workout etc. More than 3 days of uninterrupted togetherness might be bad for my marriage.
