Buying gold would be the easiest way to convert Philippine money to something that is useable anywhere in the world. Without the hassle of banking records and transaction details being recorded for future use against you.

I purchased a 3000sqm lot 30km from Iloilo in Pototan about 10 years ago. High ground for 600psm.At the time the seller had children ready for collage courses so quick sale price. At the time , similar lots were at 1200psm so a fairly good price. Plus cash sale so seller and I were happy. Titled property also.

Big tobacco is starting to follow the vaping crowd as their profits start to decline. This is somewhat a second life for some tobacco companies.

My passenger was terrified of my bike because it sits quite high compared to a scooter. I'm also a huge 5.5 feet .

Manila to Destroy Arroceros Park
brmpipes replied to intrepid's topic in From the News Desk-Philippines news only
Ya but we better protect Borocay lol. You would think any green space left in Manila would be a priority with the gov and country. I guess not. -
The first article states some have taken the bottom portion of the encroachment out but left the other floors intact. Sounds like a fight is in the works. The plans for the road widening include a bike lane on both sides and sidewalks .The actual width for vehicle traffic looks to be unchanged. Also D_mall just up from or building might get demo because of building on wet lands.

Philippine Ambulances
brmpipes replied to Dave Hounddriver's topic in Transport to from and in the Philippines
Unfortunately, when backing into a stall and parking the risk is higher on vehicle damage expense if someone hits you after you have parked. -
The problem being that the government claims to own all the land and only gave out tax declared lots to some of the residence. Now if they want to widen the road they can and you cant do nothing to change that. We are well within our boundary of our lot with the set back from the original road that was present when we constructed.

Possible House Build

A second floor is more expensive but gives you a place to move stuff during unusual flooding. -
Bitcoin - Virtual Currencies and the future of Cash
brmpipes replied to insite's topic in Life as an Expat
I wonder if this is a way of taking the power away from the already cash rich. The younger people have always said the world is unfair to them, now the younger are looking for ways to become rich through other means. -
I was able to find skoal cherry in SM mall in Iloilo just before I left. It was 340p per tin. Yes it was older stock ,but got me through the long flight back to Vancouver. I had typed this all before I left Philippines, but of course internet went down and couldn't post. Couldn't believe It when I came across it. Life is good.
