An OFW is a Filipino who works outside of Philippines. Not sure what Bruce is trying to say to do with Art, Art is or was not an OFW,

Art is a proud FilAm! Which is (sorry Art) a person of Pinoy decent or citizenship who then becomes an American Citizen. There is a bit of difference with the generations. As a FilAm will produce baby Americans who, when grown up, deny ever eating balut! Hehehehe It is an aquired taste, you know......

A Fil/Am is exactly that, a Filipino who either grew up in the US or relocated and lived there for an extended amount of time. An OFW is a person who leaves the Philippines on contract work to another country, any country other than the Philippines, so not necessarily the US.

Yup, I concur with what everyone says above, but I'm also a "Balikbayan" (a U.S. citizen, Filipino tourist) on a 6 month visa extension, because I'm not yet a Dual Citizen and my one year BB stamp has expired! Haven't ate balut lately, but my wife loves the stuff!

I don't know if she is correct, (Art help me out here), but my wife calls any girl who was born and raised in the Philippines but is the product of an American father and a filipina mother a: filam

Someone called my kids "Filams" on my last trip back, even though they've lived their whole lives in Asia, and only the older one's been back to Canada for a week and a half, and I'M NOT AMERICAN, but he knows all of that already.
