Garpo Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 You have to look at what type of things make you happy. If you are happy where you are at then you would be stupid to leave. It is all about what makes you feel comfortable and happy. But unless you already have Filipina girlfriends then I doubt that you could really understand the difference between being happy with girls where you are at and being happy with the girls here in the Philippines. There is also the race for the almighty dollar in the US which seems to control people lives there and then become obsessed in a way that is hard to describe. While here in the Philippines things run at a much slower pace and it seems to allow people to stop and enjoy more of the things that life has to offer. People also tend to be much more friendly and easier to get along with here in the Philippines compared to what I experienced in the Unites States.
Mr Lee Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) is it all about the women and being cheap to live? i already have beautiful weather and have no problem with lady friends. if i already have both what else draws people to move there if they have more than enough to live here?It is going to be different strokes for different folks, so it is up to what you seek. As Gary said above, if you are happy where you are, then maybe no need to venture out. For me it is the woman, my wife, so not the women except if you include our daughters, then it would be the women. :) If it were not for them and some close friends, I would surely not bother to live or even spend as much time as we do in the Philippines. There is much beauty all over the world and I suspect many countries you could live in with that income level, including many parts of the US.If you were to do a survey of income levels of foreigners living in the Philippines, I think you would find that you will probably be considered rich when compared to most with your $5000 a month, that is if they answered the survey truthfully, and yes as Mikeb wrote in another post, that is good advice, do not advertise it to anyone because there will be quite a few foreigners who would like to part you with your money, as well as locals, so play it safe and play it low key. Art2ro Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 What $5,000 a month pension? Who, Mugs? So why is Mug's only reason for coming to the Philippines is if his job offer pans out? $5,000 a month isn't enough for you Mugs and you have no problems with lady friends in the U.S. or will your $5,000 a month pension run out soon and need a job? So, which is it or what's the true allure for you to come to the Philippines? You don't have to come if you are happy in the U.S. with your many lady friends and the warm weather there in Florida! Bragging and flaunting your money around in the Philippines may cause you grave harm! So, as lee already mentioned, keep a low key! The Philippines may be a big shock to your senses or it may not, because of the women here and or the weather!
