What Did You Work On While In The Military?

Robert, were you a 45B?!?! I did that for my first few years in the WV ARNG. Fun job, so long as I actually worked on SMALL arms. Still not sure how the gun on an M109A5 counts as "small".

I've been an 11M (Mechanized Infantry) in the regular Army (though even then, I wanted to play with the hardware).

I was a 19K (M1 Armor Crewman) with the KY ARNG. Tanks are FUN!!! As mentioned, I was a 45B (Small Arms Repairer) here in WV, then a 91K3O (Armament Repairer), but now I've finally become the total pogue and was recently retrained to be a 42A3O (Human Resources Specialist). This means I know the proper way to format memos. :D

Not sure I would remember what the dials and switches do now though 20 + years is a long time to forget a few things :mocking:

Holy Crap Batman!  Those RAF guys sure know how to probe each other during that bold and secret bombing

raid on Port Stanley's runway in the Falkland Islands, 1982.  Our man Jack P was a pilot-navigator on one of

those Victor tankers.

The refueling plan covering nearly 4 thousand miles was so damn complicated but the Argentinians were

caught completely by surprise.  My man Jack P -- always flying wheels up.

Respectfully -- Jake

Hello Alan,

Sometimes, warriors also have a wounded heart.  Your brief description demonstrates your humbleness and the silent

devotion for your fellow warriors.  If I may, I would like to pay a tribute to all the diggers involved in the Vietnam war:

I salute you sir!  Respectfully -- Jake (retarded masterchief, USN)......now a civilian master-bater

Hmmm.....bery interesting.  Are you field stripping an AK and RPG tube?  Perhaps to be sent home as war souvenirs....he, he.

One of my favorite modern tank is the Abrams M1 battle tank.  In fact, I'm still getting my ass kicked playing my favorite tank

simulation games, called Steel Beast Pro, personal edition.  I believe you Army guys use the military version of Steel Beast for

training.  I wonder what would be the next generation battle tank?

That was a classic move by General Schwarzkopf using his ground assault during Desert Storm.  It was like a fake football move

inside, while the hail Mary (your famous left hook maneuver) was thrown for a touchdown.  You guys kicked ass!

Respectfully -- Jake

LOL Yes, I'm tearing into an AK in that picture. I didn't try to get it home, but I did have a crated SVD Dragunov that I kept with me up until the day we left, in hopes I'd be allowed to take it back home (since it is a semi-automatic).

The M1 family of tanks is pretty impressive. Not sure about "the best"....there are a lot of good tanks out there, but so much depends on the crew. I used to play Steel Beasts PPE also!! LOL It is really a great sim, isn't it? The US Army doesn't use it, but I think the Aussies and several European countries do. I'm positive Germany does.

Thank You Jake, The last time i saw that formation Plan, was on a blackboard and easel. It looked more like a game plan for a Ball game.

We did not know for sure, if it would work but it did. With the grace of God went we and spared the Lives of our Citizens of the islands. smacking some backsides, as we did so
