Yes boys and girls, after a few weeks of absence on the forum and a major walkabout in manila andsurroundings, im finally home at my house in Olongapo city. dug in snug as a bug for good. after 34 years of absence it seems like i never left. as i wake up this morning to the rooster crowing and the birds chirping outside my window , i can smell the sweet aroma of fresh coffee and pandisal and fried rice cooking in the kitchen. and served to me before i even get a chance to get out of bed. ahh life is grand , its good to finally be home again. :cheersty: tanks EJ Barton

Got back from our last "pre-move" trip a week ago. We visited our bank, our home builder, several design centers (gonna tear down the old house and build new) introducing myself to the barangay captain. All in all laying the final ground work for our move. BOY OH BOY was it hard to get back on that plane..............See you in December Gapotwo....keep the pandesal hot for me!

Wazz up homie? We appreciate the update of your safe return back to our hometown of Olongapo. If I remember correctly, you also purchased a nice Pajero SUV big enough to carry a contingency of body guards....he, he.One of these mornings after some fresh coffee and pandesal, tell us more about what happen to our 'hood.Unlike Manila, I hope that traffic and environmental issues are still being strictly enforced there. I'm extremely happen for you EJ -- you completed the circle of life and it's all good, my friend!Respectfully -- Jake

well , first of all, Manila Sucks big time. that said, i like being in olongapo. and no jake ,i did not buy the mitsubishi pajero. i decided that 1.4 million pesos is a little steep , and bought a stainless steel owner jeep with a toyota drivetrain and a lowered suspension for 170'000 pesos. so i can cruise da barrios in my lowrider with the rest of the local homies :tiphat: ..and pick up the GRO.at the bars  . kidding aside...as soon as i got to olongapo all i could smell was diesel fuel in the air. after a few days of that i guess i got used to it, it went away. now i sleep with my window open and aircon off. the crowing roosters dont bother me, neither does the yapping dog that lives down the block. Thank god or allah or whoever that i am a motorhead, as there is no muffler laws here or they just dont enforce it, vehicles here have reverse cone megs. or straight pipes. including the lowly tricycle yingdinger. And who are all these foreigners in my hood? they are everywhere..one block you have the bombays that run the 5/6 money sharks and as soon as you turn the corner here is little korea town, then there is the shabu tweekers area. i havent seen a KANO yet, altho the local girls that ive talked to all have KANO boyfrends, but they arent here. . And yes JAKE the traffic is bad from the victory liner station to the subic main gate. i swear the traffic situation was better 35 years ago even with the US.Navy here.funny thing i noticed is that there are more Western Union money transfer stations here than there are sari sari stores. anyway thats all downtown, here in my hood of Kalaklan its pretty mellow. I can rant and rave abuot a lot of things here but i didnt come home after 34 years to do that, so ill go with the flow, be mellow and travel with a big stick, or my cousin, mr. colt 1911 A1 :tiphat: DAMN ITS GOOD TO BE HOME.... tanks ej.
