Well maybe I should be the last one on the forum to be answering this thread as I have never been to a girly bar or other HERE in the Philippines but it is my understanding from viewing forums about the Phils for more than 15 years that the girls CAN NOT WORK WITH OUT A LICENSE .... and where do you suppose they get these licenses ..... CITY HALL .... so my question is this ..... if CITY HALL issues these licenses to work in a club ..... how the hell can the club owner be convicted of hiring a minor child when she has a license form CITY HALL saying she is of age and can work in his club ...... now if she is a free lancer and wonders in off the street that is a different story but then she really doesn't work for the bar owner than does she ..... I think that all these do gooders and ugly old biddies need to go home and get a good lay but maybe they can't and that is why they do what they do ..... now don't get me wrong if the girl is REALLY UNDER AGED than who ever is to blame should be hung ...... BUT WOULDN'T THAT BE THE ONE AT CITY HALL THAT ISSUED THE LICENSE IN THE FIRST PLACE .... JUST SAYING .... IMHO

The law says that any woman regardless of age even if 30 years old is treated as a child if she works in a bar and has been rescued in a trafficking offence

Pardon my ignorance but has anybody heard of, through all the different raids carried out, any ladyboys being rescued?

I really do feel that this is a poor attempt at keeping the overly pious happy...

Bob the ladyboys have major power in the cebu girly bar scene ! I will try to explain as best as I have heard .

they do most of the girls make up for a small price at the start of the night . They also are the 5/6 lenders for the girl , So a girl did not get BF for the night before and has no money for lunch/dinner

well the LB will lend them money for there makeup and dinner . At 5/6 rates per day .

LBs never work in a girly bar bad tor business . But they are all over mango ave , discos ,on the street , pretty much all over except a couple corners and then its all LBs

LBs recruit and run a lot of the bar scene behind the front lines on a day to day basis.

Most times they could walk right out the door in a raid because thats the way it works .

They are not employees and the cops know the players .

LBs and the bar scene are a whole topic on there own and I,m not sure this forum is the place to discuss it .

This is a tough one.

I am of two minds here, taking into consideration we are in the Philippines, I don't see what the problem is if a woman decides to work in a bar and make money from drinks bought for her. After all whether she gets the money from the bar or from the guy (or girl) buying her the drink this is done all over the world!

If she then makes the decision, (the operative words here are "she decideds") then it is her choice, who am I or anyone else to second guess or judge her! to go with the person buying her the drink, and makes her own choices what she does or does not do with that person, it is up to her, not anyone else!

However, if there is any truth in the story that she is forced in any way to work in this bar, or to go with people and do things that she does not want to do then I am against it.

Especially if they are not even 18 years old!

In my experience, and having read so much crap about what goes on here in Angeles, having met some of the girls who work in these places, the majority of them if not all would rather work at something else, however they are not forced by anyone to do anything that they are not choosing to do themselves and therefore not anyone has the right to judge or condem them.

They are only "forced" by circumstances not buy physical means ..... and can walk out anytime they want .... even if they owe their boss for room and board and other things ..... they are not chained to anything ..... all thought I have heard of some Momma's holding the girls documents to insure that she will pay what is owed ..... but as I said she is NOT held physically ......

Their are barfines at every girlie bar, They may not be advertised, but they are there, they may be called something else, ie, EWR early work release, If they just relied on guys buying them drinks, some of them would go very hungry :)

Not really as they have a per day rate of 200 peso or more so its not like working for nothing.
