I just saw some interesting information about renewing a Philippine passport. Below is what I copied off the web site and now one must appear in person at the embassy if outside the Philippines to renew a PI passport or get a first time. http://www.philippineembassy-usa.org/downl...DC21Oct2008.pdfAll applicants whether for the renewal of a passport or those applying for the first time MUSTappear personally at the Consular Office of the Embassy to affix his thumb mark and sign hisapplication form. Applications by mail cannot be accepted.

Yeah, I forgot about the change when they went to the new passports. They are now requiring a thumbprint mark affixed to the pages.

The SF Consular Office visits several of the major citys along the left coast twice a year to handle simple business like that.
