Hahaha, turn it up mate, i got the aircon ramped up on full here in Qld Oz and it's still like an oven. So hot out west ya can fry an egg on a rock no worries! You can always put more clothes on, but there's a limit to how many clothes you can take off........until you get arrested that is :hystery: :hystery: :hystery:

Snow ?????.......what's that?

We've just been through the hottest weather on record in my bit of Australia.

It's debilitating, demoralising and depressing.

I'd give Jakes right arm for a bit of snow right now.

I consider my right arm more valuable because I play tennis about 4-5 times a week. However, I wouldn't

mind giving you my middle leg....as long as I can get a transplant from a horse.....he, he.

When this southern CA boy went to boot camp in Great Lakes (north of Chicago), I didn't know anything

about winter blizzards coming across Lake Michigan. I kept asking what is wind chill factor.....until I lined

up on the grinder (parking lot) at zero dark thirty waiting for our breakfast. Up close and personal, the

term nuts to butts formation was no help against that freezing wind.

I don't mind the hot and humid climate in the Philippines. Perhaps that is why my favorite playground will

always be near a beach or lake. It's those damn mosquitoes that makes it more intolerable. I really feel

sorry for you guys located at the opposite edge of extreme hot and cold climates.

Stay safe guys -- Jake

High humidity make both cold and heat worse. Where I lived earlier it was common with damp winters around 0 C, and I wondered how to manage minus 15-20 C here in the inland, but it was dry. If no wind dry minus 15 C feel LESS than damp 0 C.

Similar concerning heat. Wet 60 C sauna is hard to stand long time for me, but 100 C dry sauna I could sit in until I got bored of it.

I love winter. I can turn my aircon off and save some pesos.

Well. I have to put on my "reverced aircon" (=get HEAT from outside air) during the Swedish winter. It cost me around 250 000 pesos per year :boohoo: to reach only plus 20 C.

Jake, I know what you mean...

My winters are like Chicago's - and my summer's are like Cebu's! Last summer I watched the weather and humidity closely between here and Cebu and it was usually within 1 or 2 degrees of each other. My next step is to make my winter's like in Cebu too - by moving there!

:mocking:

Well, the weather is different here to the Philippines.

The skies are cloudless, and the sun is unrelenting and scorching.

It's a dry heat mostly, and everything the sun touches (beach, buildings, cars etc.) are superheated.

It's like standing next to a furnace, but the bloody furnace follows you about !

By and large the weather is idylillic here, and we have our cooler months to look foward to.

I have to admit I don't like the hot, muggy weather in the Philippines,

but the Philippines has advantages not available to me here.

Like they say, ...It's more fun in the Philippines !

Ontario summers may get hot, with people complaining about humidity, but believe me, it is nowhere as humid as the Philippines. I don't perspire in Toronto anywhere as much as I do in the Philippines. Having said that...perspiration can have a cooling effect (as long as there's a breeze).
