Forum Support Old55 Posted January 11, 2013 Forum Support Posted January 11, 2013 I'm no expert but Thailand is a visa partner with Philippines so she should be able to go with little effort. However recently a forum member posted about how older Foreigners traveling internationally with younger Filipinas have blocked the Filipina from leaving the country. We wish you guys the very best of luck Brock. The past few years have been hard for you its now time for good things to come!
Classic Dry Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I don't know where your past experiences have taken you, but, really, as has been said on this forum a good few times, the only way to know is "Boots on the ground" If you can, get a backpack, and go look at the places you're thinking of. Seen through the eyes of your family, things should get clearer. You can't really move anywhere without checking it out anyway.
Bundy Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I have not met you Brock, so it's difficult to say, but can i ask you this question. How many times have you visited the Philippines and how much time have you spent there? Reason i ask is that for me, it was not until maybe my 5th trip before i started to really like the place, infact i was one of the ones who, let's say "disliked" the Philippines with a passion for quite a while. Could be that you may be similar to myself. All the best mate.
Curley Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Hi Brock, I don't know your situation but one possibility in my mind is to look at Central and South America. Panama has the best retiree program in the world and English is quite widely spoken. I'm looking at Colombia, in fact I'm off on a two month exploratory trip next Wednesday. As far as I can find out, your wife is your wife no matter where she comes from. The best of both worlds, a Fillipina wife and a welcoming country.

I don't think that is the case for married couples.

Jollygoodfellow Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I have been thinking about what to do for the best, I do not think I will be coming to live in the Philippines, unless I have some kind of business. It appears to me that since you have been living in England and then came back for a few months your much more negative about the Philippines than when you were when living there before. So the million dollar question is the Philippines the place for you business or no business? Was also thinking of Thailand, From what I hear these days Thailand is not the land of smiles it once was? I just cant think straight and its doing my head in. Then nothing has changed and your just your usual self :hystery: sorry :) Here's what to do, import a couple of those famous taxis from England then set your self up as a wedding hire car. That way you will still feel at home in the taxi and make an income at the same time  no!
