Tukaram (Tim) Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 After a very hectic and unproductive day I bought liquor and fireworks! The mortars are weird - the explosive is built in to the tube, we shall see. And fireworks are a lot more expensive here than the US. I have brandy, rum, roman candles, mortars, fountains, some odd triangle explosives. (200 loose ones, and 2 chains of them), sparklers, bottle rockets, I am not sure what some of this stuff is though... as long it burns or explodes we will be fine! Getting ready for the New Years party at uncle's house :tiphat:And then I got home to find my dive magazine from DAN, and a check for p3,000 waiting for me in the mail. So all in all I would say a good day ha ha (OK, $70 check really - but same thing)

Thomas Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 as long it burns or explodes we will be fine! As long as they don't blow up any person and put fire on any house :)
Tukaram (Tim) Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 Yeah... all i need is for a bottle rocket (they call em river rockets) to come down on my nipa ha ha! I tested the rum last night - I will be testing fireworks tonight. And emperador is lousy brandy so no need to test it.... :tiphat:

jpbago Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I think that Tuka has been here too long now. He is becoming one of them! Take a break Tuka and go back to Dallas for awhile. I hope that he hasn't started pissing on the walls yet. As for Emperador Light, I think it is false alcohol content, not near the strength stated on the bottle. I like the Emperador Deluxe better (it is imported from Spain and still at 155p) or the Fundador. There are 2 brands of tequila here that are nothing but flavored alcohol. OnMyWay Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I'm in Baguio and I heard it gets very crazy! We have a nice overlook of one of the valleys and should have a good view. The family usually waits until the last minute to buy fireworks because that is when you can get the best prices. I remember when I was in my early 20's living in Hermosa Beach, CA, we had a party on 4th of July, and literally had a bottle rocket war with a group parked across the street from our house. When you are young, dumb and drunk you don't think about consequences! :bash: And they were all illegal fireworks.
Jollygoodfellow Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 When I read the topic title I thought the post would be about how fireworks and drinking alcohol don't mix. Might still be right yet :) What are we up to now, about 170 hurt and still a few days to go before new years eve. Anyway enjoy, I think in a few years time these fireworks will be banned for public use where they are in some parts of the Philippines already. Tukaram (Tim) Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 I hope that he hasn't started pissing on the walls yet. Of course I do! I was in the city yesterday and walking down a small street - not much more than an alley - and had to pee. Luckily there was a pile of broken cement and barbed wire... :tiphat:
