I worked in the call center business for years both here and in India. I agree with the article to a point. However, when the foreigner is the customer and paying the bills, the Filipino needs to learn to do business the Western way more than the the foreigner needs to learn Filipino ways. Otherwise, the foreigner will go elsewhere to do business.Fortunately, I was working primarily with large players in the BPO industry that understood Western business practices and expectations. I didn't have to deal with a lot of the problems inherent to Filipino run businesses.

Most Asian people will avoid conflict or losing face and tell a Foreigner whatever they think is safe answer.I also generally agree that to successfully manage Filipino employees one must understand their way of thinking to a point. On the other hand if the Filipinos want it all their way in the long run they will lose out on jobs.What point is it the news article is making with this
