Muktadir Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Hi Can you tell me the top 5 drinks I must try in Cebu? Can be beer, alcohol, or non-alcoholic drinks. Also write me the locations where I can get those. Thanks, Muktadir
Popular Post JJReyes Posted November 20, 2014 Popular Post Posted November 20, 2014 Calamansi juice (Philippine lime) is a refreshing drink. It's a citrus with the largest about the size of a golf ball. Most are much smaller. Add ice and cold water to the juice of 5 or 6 Calamansi. Tuba made from the sap of the coconut flower is worth trying as a curiosity. Too rough for most Western taste. Lambanog, the distilled of Tuba reminds one of American moonshine. I also enjoy Rum Coke made with Tanduay, a Philippine rum.
Popular Post Gator Posted November 20, 2014 Popular Post Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) Mango Shake, made with fresh mango's and not from juice or concentrate; widely available; add a shot or two of dark rum to kick it up a notch. Local beers: San Miguel Pilsen; San Miguel Light; San Miguel Apple and the local favorite Red Horse (slightly higher alcohol content then San Mig). But an absolute must try: "The Colon Street Colon Cleanser" >>> Warm instant Tang made with water from a questionable source served in a dirty plastic baggie with a used straw inserted into the bag by a vendor who hasn't washed his hands in a month of Sundays and who just peed in the gutter. :6: Edited November 20, 2014 by Gator
Popular Post frosty (chris) Posted November 20, 2014 Popular Post Posted November 20, 2014 I like fresh Buko (coconut juice) and Vodka. You can buy the juice locally, (25 pesos) put it in the freezer for about an hour, add a good shot of Vodka and a little ice, great sitting outside on a balmy night watching the world go by :cheersty:
MacBubba Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Agree with the recommendations above - calamansi, mango, buko and San Mig. Kamias juice is good too, in a tart way.
Forum Support Mike J Posted November 21, 2014 Forum Support Posted November 21, 2014 Recommend you NOT try tuba, as your immune system may not be able to handle it. My friend from the USA spent time in the hospital with antibiotics and IV fluids because of dehydration after drinking tuba with the locals. Try the green mango shake, if you like something a little tart. For me, nothing beats an ice cold SM Pilsner!

JJReyes Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 When visiting a foreign country, the World Health Organization recommends adults consume beer from a bottle (no ice or use of a container) as the beverage of choice. Luckily for you, the Philippines has excellent beer.
