Popular Post frosty (chris) Posted January 23, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Needed to change my AUS drivers license to local one, so yesterday was off to the LTO in Mandaue to change it. Arrived there about 1-30pm and the office was packed with locals waiting. Walked in the door and lo and behold they have a section for Seniors, you gotta love them. The guard looked at me,said go straight in sir, I was the only old fart there. Very attractive young lady took my passport and drivers license, said I needed a medical and drug test before I can change my license. I was taken across the road opposite LTO by a staff member to have my medical, that consisted of the Doctor? filling out a form asking my height and weight and that's it, sign here sir, thank you sir, bye sir. Next was the drug test, again an attractive young miss, again another form to fill out( there crazy here on paper work, which is just repeating the same thing over and over again)pay 300 pesos and she gives me a little plastic bottle to pee in, there is a CR there , so I go to close the door as you do when a lady is around, sorry sir cannot close the door, I have to be able to watch you, hahahaha, I almost asked if she wanted to come and help me. Took about 15 mins for the test to come back, while waiting had my picture and finger prints taken. With my medical and drug test went back to the LTO office, same young lady. Her - Everything ok Sir Me - Good, thank you. Her - What you want with your License Me - Car and M/cycle Her - Ok sir 617.63 pesos, or you want rush service for 1700 pesos After seeing the crowd waiting outside, decided on the rush service, sat down outside, called almost immediately for another photo and electronic signature at window 2, told sit and wait, 20 mins later another photo and signature at window 3. About 45 minutes later was called to take my license, which by the way is only a paper one, the real plastic one will be available in 2-3 weeks, the receptionist took my number and said she will call when it arrives ( hope it's not like BI have been waiting 9 months for my ACR card they say they will call and never do) no need to come in and check as you normally would have to do. So all in all about two and a half hours all up, not so bad. Edited January 23, 2015 by frosty (chris)

sonjack2847 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Well I suppose getting old should have at least a few benefits. I`ll let you know when I get old, I still have to wait in the long queue maybe I should buy a walking stick and see if that helps cut down on waiting time.
