There is a domestic terminal at Clark.

It seems to be impossible, at least online, to find a good standard condo facing the beach in Subic or Boracay area. And one seems to get much less accommodation (size, standard) for the money compared to Pattaya. I would prefer Subic as it is near Manila and Clark and hopefully little cooler climate compared to Boracay, i might be wrong.. I will go and explore both places though and also Cebu.

If you are willing to spend the money, the Ayala Land develipment at Anvaya Cove, a few miles South of Subic Bay, may suit you - it is certainly well maintained and very pleasant, and has an excellent beach (and golf course, and tennis club, and swimming pools, and clubhouse...)

You would need to drive into Olongapo (30 mins) to find a girlie bar. But it does have nice condos and houses on the beach.

Caveat emptor. Anvaya Cove is one of those upmarket developments priced accordingly. 30 mins to Olongapo, a nice area with plenty of American influence, a few eclectic restaurants and all....30 mins is too long to commute.

Did I post above (forgot already). I would go to Olongapo. But as far as condo on the beach, no. The road is set back from the beach and as I can see development is on the other side.

Olongapo is a place I would choose to live.

Zazz, That's what I thought also, I joined the VFW because I saw there was a post in Angeles city. On the map it looks close----In over two years I have never been there :hystery: . Because of the roads, Subic and Manila really are not that close.  Others will correct me, but it is a good 1.5 maybe even 2 hour drive. (depending on traffic).

A lot of what we say might seem incredible. My suggestion is to take a couple of weeks, and travel around a bit. Some of the things we have been saying might make more sense. :cheersty:

That's correct, more like 3 hours and the route is not that direct. Road tolls which mount up, or the old road which is ok, but passes many towns inc San Fernando Pampanga, SF can be quite busy.

There are 11 international airports in the Philippines. 2 of those are in areas that are not recommended at the moment due to their locations on the south. And a few, though considered international, may not have sufficient international traffic for your needs...

If you look at the commercial airline schedules only 4 of those international airports have regular flights. NAIA, Clark, Cebu and Davao.

For example Subic has an international airport but doesn't even have regular domestic flights.

Yes well that's right. Clark has reduced the number of flights, but from memory they fly to HK, Singapore, Bangkok using local airlines who have international rights.

The long term plan was to have a fast rail train from Metro Manila to Clark, hence alleviating some of the air and road traffic around NIA. Masive project though and involves relocation of thousand's of people in 3 different provinces and some doubt it could be done.

What happened with  Ampelos Towers? Were they ever compleated or even started?

There is a solitary rebar sticking up...

I have messaged you with the name of a real estate agent who specialises in the Subic area and its environs and who has a good reputation..
