Popular Post i am bob Posted March 17, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 17, 2015 This may not be what brought me to the Philippines ( that would be a big shiny airplane), but one of the things that will help keep me here is what happened a few minutes ago... I just came back from visiting my friend who has his own sari sari store around the corner and, as I left, I had 5 young ladies (ages between 12 and 30) waving goodbye and calling out "Goodbye Bob" as i walked down the street... Hopefully they weren't happy because I was leaving! :mocking:
Popular Post rw191010 Posted March 17, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 17, 2015 I currently drive my 18 wheeler in the U.S. for 6 months and I live here with my fiancée the other 6 months. I find true joy here, to be honest. A loving mate and a mischievous 4 y.o. daughter that I truly love. For me, I'm lazy and I like being able to drive, do business and communicate in English. I will admit that I came here to enjoy the women back in 2007, but that attraction soon faded. I have had relationships with two Filipina women. The first just didn't work out, but without any hard feelings. I met my current fiancée while running a relief operation for the Yolanda typhoon. I am blessed and I wish the same for any and all of you who have good intentions and a true heart.

Popular Post WordsandMusic Posted April 1, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 1, 2015 For me it has to be the people. To watch them day in and day out go about surviving and living the way they do, yet some of the friendliest people I've ever had the privilege to met. They know not of our way of life, the things we take for granite are things they work so hard to achieve. I've been all over the world but fell in love with the Filipinos. It was as if I had been there before in some life long ago. There was a real connection between those I encountered. Of course being a singer/songwriter has given me a chance to see how talented the Filipino people really are, and I mean in every-way. Think about what you have seen and heard as you have lived there. I watched some guys tear down and old jeepeny one day, the next day they were building a whole new vehicle out of it, all in a dusty little field with hand tools. I like to think that the filipino ingenuity and perseverance is what also made America great. Can you imagine what the Philippines could become if given an equal playing field. It's such a shame to see so much talent go to waste so that the rich can maintain a certain way of life. My heart goes out to those who have nothing but continue to smile as if things could never be better. The hardest part about being there is not giving all my money away. But I'm going there to nurture my Mother in law for my wife's sake. I'm going there so my son understands his roots and learns his other language. I'm going there to write and find a co-writer or two so I can send some great songs home. I'm going to the Philis because I can live a simpler life. Allow my own baggage to leave me and try not to pick up any new baggage along the way. But mostly I'm going there because I love the people!
Popular Post Hey Steve Posted April 1, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 1, 2015 Of course being a singer/songwriter has given me a chance to see how talented the Filipino people really are, and I mean in every-way. I guess I am trying to say you speak about me in the same way. Maybe/hopefully one day you will be inspired enough to write and sing a song about your view experssed here of the Philippines and post here for all of us to listen to. Nice post
WordsandMusic Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Hey Steve- Thank you for such a wonderful compliment! My visits to the philippines have filled me with song and poems and I look forward to concentrating on my writing. I told my wife all I need is a room for my music and writing and you can have the whole house. Just shove my food under the door and clean water when I'm thirsty. I wrote a song the other day for her called Cebu Baby, she loved it. I told her I was going to write a bunch of songs and have them recorded by a filipino singer. I'm serious too, that's what I would love to do. I wrote a song called, " Love on the Jeepney ". It's of course about finding love while riding a Jeepney. Anyway Thanks again, where would I be without words and Music!
Popular Post Papa Carl Posted April 4, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2015 For me it was quite simple...., the scenery, both geographical and human! Everywhere I traveled in the world I met a Filipina, and most if not all were unbelievably beautiful, kind, giving, understanding and talented. So eventually came here after meeting a Filipina, that did not work out, however met another Filipina who eventually became my wife, after travelling to Malaysia to visit me, 6 times at her own expense mostly. Do I wish I had done things differently, of course, but I have no regrets, other than I wish I had done it earlier, when I had more money and years to spend enjoying all that the Philippines has to offer those who are willing to accept her for who and what she is, appreciate the people who live here, and adapt as best as you can. Live life to the fullest while you can, stop thinking about it...., and do it. Papa Carl

Hopefully they weren't happy because I was leaving!Bob....You need to change your name from, "I Am Bob" to "Goodbye Bob" Ether way that's much better than "Hey Joe!" My wife and I will remain living here in the States until I retire in four or five years. After that we may spend the summers in Philippines as our two boys are still in school. Although owning a simple home there appeals to me I'm not sure if it's practical for us. It's unlikely we will ever live in Philippines full time for us the States is home. But who knows............ chris49 Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I was set up in Sri Lanka with a big house, land and a working plantation. Kids got a British education and both went off to the USA, while I continued my work in Saudi. Kids got through college and I was able to retire. Left Saudi in 2005, but had a few opportunities to go back, but required a new visa each time. It was easier to come here. Then the women, the low cost of women, living, and then the women and again the women. I got burned but I got my money's worth. A 56 year old man, hooking up with women, nothing over 30. I'm now 65, settled down and never want to leave. Let me rephrase. In any city, if I wanted to, I can be talkng to a girl in the afternoon, starting a relationship by evening. My wife has her own ideas about that and my freedom has been limited. But I'm happy.
