Thomas Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Having an expat as part of the extended family is considered a jackpot with all kinds of crocodile tears that would win an Oscar Award. The question remains......how well can you put your foot down softly? Well. Someone wrote somewhere in this forum giving BEFORE marriage and in the beginning, and then try to REDUCE.I think better NOT give them any much in the beginning, because that raise their expectations... My plan is to ONLY assist them to earn more THEMSELVES (by adding knowledge and start capital) a RULE told BEFORE marriage I will NOT pay for LIVING costs (except perhaps urgent medical costs) for any other than OLD parents/grandparents. It can be an advantage if I'm elder than them, because then I can claim why would I pay them retiring, when I'm working still myself :mocking:
