Hi steve, I had never really known much of the Philippines back in 2001 ! let alone the people and culture !

I was actually on Friendster for a while but got fed up with the scammers and married woman !

Funny thing was I was just about to log off and close Friendster for good ! But I thought just one more browse before I do !

And then I saw this name Mel-123 no description, no details , just age location and her name !

But something told me to say hello !! 

I found out later it was her 2 workmates who told her to go online and find herself a husband !! 

she replied and that was the start of our relationship ! we chatted for a few months and I fell in love with her !

I proposed online and I went to the Philippines to marry her on April 17th 2002 which was in fact my birthday !!

The best birthday present ever !! mind you she did send me a photo of herself in a clothes shop ! ( a warning of things to come ? ) :lol:

when she started work in the UK we pooled our money as we do here in the Philippines ! when we go shopping I always carry the larger notes so everybody assumes I pay for everything !!

I had to smile when I read your posts as it seems we married 2 peas in a pod ..... J's sister placed her ad in in the old FH as she felt at 34 J was over hill and needed a husband ..... she was shocked when I started emailing her and at first in spite of perfect English she was slow to reply .... but soon warmed up .... one thing I insisted on was we video chat as I had a bad experience with a previous chat mate ..... anyway we corresponded almost every day as I worked nights and she worked days so it worked out really well ....  when I retired a year later I moved here and we moved in together .... were married one year later and been here ever since ....

 

I feel we have the perfect relationship as we are the same empowerment and I wouldn't change or trade her for anything in the world ....  :thumbsup:

I managed to sneak out of the house this morning without waking K, who insists on making my breakfast. Sure enough I got a phone call when I was halfway to the office, asking what I had eaten, just to be sure that I am taking care of myself.

My wife is an angel as well. I would not trade her for anything-so many reasons why...but in a related topic, Vince, hey Vince, my friend if you are reading this, please chime in. Here you are seeing volumes 4,,5,6,7, etc....the middle and the end of the book. Vince, you are on the right track because of your enthusiastic mindset and I hope these folks here further inspire you to stay on track-because were rooting for you, buddy. Here's what you might be labeling as the "finished product". Love a Filipina-and if she's the right one, she will likely love you more.
