stevewool Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Many folk on here are from different places that once they called home , So when thinking of those places does a tear come into your eyes , the people you have left behind, loved ones who are not here anymore, places that you use to drink at or even play in as a young kid, what about your mates , do you wonder where or even what are they doing, Are you lucky enough to have lots of old friends who are still in contact, Or is it just me, a silly sod who cries at times gone past

Forum Support Popular Post Mike J Posted November 28, 2015 Forum Support Popular Post Posted November 28, 2015 Short answer in no. My last visit as a tourist, prior to the final move, I remember landing in Cebu and waiting for our luggage. Hot, humid, tired,I smell bad, the air smells bad, noisey, where the h&%* is my luggage. All that going on, but my "gut feelings were sure is good to be back home". I guess for me my heart was telling me that the PH was really where I should be. I have only been here a little over two years but this is where I want to be and I cannot imagine going back to the USA. I very much love my "home" country, but the Philippines is where I want to live and this is where I plan to finish my life. I do miss the folks I used to work with, and the "best friends" we had, but I have never considered moving back. I have told my brother and sister that I will probably not be back, this is where I want to finish out my life. This is just me, not sure how others feel about the move.
BobP Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Steve, I, too, think of friends from the past, as well as high school and college days, ex-wife and for me....I love thinking of when I had my beautiful best friend with me, Chelsea my golden retriever. Being an animal lover, I treasure those days the most. I don't dwell, but it is nice to go back in your mind and relive fun times from the past. And, it is unsettling but also constructive to some degree, to relive the pain from your past. Good post Steve. Thank you. Forum Support Old55 Posted November 28, 2015 Forum Support Posted November 28, 2015 I'm becoming much more sentimental as I get older. No you're not alone in that regard.
virginprune Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) I've moved around a fair bit in life and have always lived by the philosophy "enjoy your time where you are and whom your with but when you move on, you move on" Edited November 28, 2015 by virginprune
chris49 Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) Are you lucky enough to have lots of old friends who are still in contact, Thsnks to Facebook and a bit of effort I have a few contacts from way back, but not much nostalgia attached. I also have a few friends that may have passed on and I would not know. There's nothing to get choked up about. When in Saudi Arabia, going on some lengthy vacations, we were very happy to get back "home" into our own house, our own familiar bed. Home is where the heart is, if that is not where you are currently sitting, you might have a problem. Kuya John Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) Steve what was the question again :89: Naaah as you get older your memory goes so it don't matter. Seriously, I find every year the exchange of Christmas cards get less. I can remember things and friends from the past, but new aquaintences names I struggle with, Joey, I mean Steve live for today, for tomorrow never comes. Happy Birthday again....there my memory isn't that bad after all :cheersty: Edited November 28, 2015 by Kuya John
