Transferring Money From The Uk

I transferred money on Saturday with the company I always use. I had to provide proof of identity as I am a regularly transfer money has anybody else come across this.I understand why they asked for ID but have not heard of it before for such a small amount.

Yes, I have come across this before. In Dubai, about three years ago, I had to provide my passport to send via Western Union to Phils. About the same time from Paris to Phils I was also asked for ID. But in Thailand, I have never been asked. I guess it can vary with local regulations. I know to send money via Western Union I had to provide ID to send amounts via an online account.

ITs just a western union thing we had the problem last month had to go back home  for id ! :1 (103):

No this was online with Azimo , not picking up the cash.Maybe it is a security thing never mind I got the cash.
