My Trip To Thailand

I started out from here to go to Mactan at 415pm. The bus journey was ok and I got to the airport with plenty of time to spare.About a week before I got an email from cebu pacific saying the flight had been changed by about 30 mins so I went to the desk to double check.The man behind the desk said this flight has already left what the f I said it was only changed by 30 mins not 12 hours. I was thinking I wouls have to book another flight when his co -worker said something to him and he then said sorry sir I did not read the date it is tomorrow morning. I said lucky I am on blood pressure tablets or I may have had a fit or worse.

 

The flight to Manila then to Bangkok went without any fuss.

 

Checking in at Bangkok I handed my flight details and the printout of the throwaway ticket. Well she kept looking my passport and said I am looking for the visa. what visa there it is no she said this is the wrong visa so me thinking she wanted to see my entry visa to the phills I passed my expired passport.No she said this visa is no good.I said what exactly are you looking for she said residents permit or a permanent visa. I said I don`t have one she said well I cannot let you fly as you have no onward ticket. I said give me my paperwork she did then I separated the two pieces and then she could see the onward ticket.

 

I get to Manila and a woman is struggling with her baby and her bags. I asked do you want any help oh yes she said so I picked up the 2 bags I thought were hers she said and that one. It was like an 18 inch cube and man was it heavy.I carried it to immigration and said to her I will have to go to the foreign passport line.The officer said it was ok in that lane and he then asked if we were married she said no. Which is good as I dont want a balikbayan as I am applying for the 13a soon. Well he is looking at my passport and looking at me and says how long are you staying in the phills I said forever.He said um um I said would you like to see my onward ticket he said yes looked at it and stamped my Passport.We then left for Cebu.

 

I got through Mactan airport in about 10 mins straight outside and got a taxi to the south bus terminal. When I arrived holy crap it is Fing Sinulog.I walked out of the terminal and across the coach park then I saw a bus going to Oslob the conductor said standing room only so I jumped on.Well that was a 2 hr journey from hell people stood on my feet, getting slammed into with backpacks well my mistake should have comeback a day later.I got home and had a big warm welcome from the bosses.

 

I had a good time in Thailand I met 4 people I know from the UK and it was for some of them 5 years since they saw me or I them. I also met up With Mogo and had a few drinks and a good chinwag.

That is exactly what happened to me in Auckland with a different ending.  The agent was Filipina and when Abby told her that we were married and I would get Balikbayan status on arrival, she never asked for the throw away I had.  Probably only a Filipino know about the Balikbayan.
