RonHenk Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I'm refering to the uncanny ability of Filipinos to loose or regain their slippers in stride when transitioning from outside to in or vice versa. They seem to do it without even looking, all the while texting, carrying groceries, boxes, what have you. They can even pick theirs out from a pile of 20 pair at your stoop without even taking their eyes off the game on their cel phone. Me I have to stop and flick my feet 5 or 6 times just to get them to come off. What am I doing wrong? Maybe I just need more practice
robert k Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I back up to the door to take mine off so I am pointed the right direction when I leave. I prefer a canvas deck shoe anyway, almost as cool to wear as a slipper but gives better protection to your feet. I wouldn't want to "blow out my flip flop from stepping on a pop top", if you know what I mean.

You ever notice how most locals drag their slippers across any surface, including carpet? You can hear them approaching behind your back.....he, he. The reason is trying to hold the thong against your toes so that they don't slip off. Additionally, they are often times oversized to facilitate easy on, easy off. I usually wear all terrain sandals (without socks) but the problem with them is trying to dig out all the chit that you stepped on along the way. With rubber slip-pairs, you just scrap it off with a couple swipes and you're good to go....he, he. A bright flashlight should prevent you from stepping onto any carabao, dog, people, pig landmines when staggering around drunk late at night. Just saying....... Mike S Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I think it has to do with their toes ..... they can use them almost like our fingers and what ever you do DON'T get into a pinching contest using your toes with a Filipina ..... you will definitely loose and it will hurt like hell .... just my experience ..... :hystery: :cheersty:
