I love Maccas. That's what we call Mc Donald's in Australia.

Maccas offers coffee with breakfast meals, and this can be upgraded to large =375 ml for 10 pesos more.

A large coffee comes with a free refill including additional sugar and creamer and the service crew get it for you. Or if you just order a large coffee, that's 42 pesos with a refill.

If they have the Mc Café feature you may add 50 pesos to have a cappuccino, not bad, but no refill in that case.

Any more good deals like that?

There is only 1 McDs in Davao City that serves breakfast. I get the Egg McMuffin, coffee and 2 hot apple pies. I think the EggMcMuffin with hash browns and coffee is 117 Pesos. The hot apple pies are 25 Pesos each.

I don't know if it's a good deal or not but I like it.

I like coffee and the coffee there is pretty good considering.

I like Starbucks back home but the one at SM Mall is really bad. I ordered a Carmel Machiatto and it was just hot milk with a taste of carmel and little coffee. I told the guy who made it and he just stared at me. He obviously does not know how to make coffee drinks and doesn't understand English either. Never again. Nope, never going to Starbucks again in Davao.

which sm were you at?  hehe!  i live fairly close to one but i usually go to either gmall or victoria instead...  or abreeza when i have a craving for pizza...  s&r has a take-out there and it's not restricted to members! best pizza in town...  hehe

another decent deal is angel's burgers...  wait!  not the burgers but the breakfast!  fried egg on a bun with cheese, mayo and bacon...   i forget the price but it's less than mcdo's and it's about twice the size...  ok...  the burgers - if you're going to a cheaper burger place - are probably the best of the bunch for this category...

bread...  the subject where everybody either hates the local stuff or don't care...  but, for those with a rose bakery near them?  P35 for a loaf of white (yeah, i know, not healthy...) and it tastes more like a western style bread...

fried chicken?  forget kfc...  go to jenny's...  same taste but local chicken without all the hormones...  though i don't know if they use them on the kfc birds here...  but still it's a lot cheaper!

there's lots of deals out there...  just have to try the local shops!

Hello Bob, I go to the SM in Matina. Like I said, the Starbucks sux. Wife is a member of S & R and I agree the Best pizza in town. If I get hungry at a mall, I'll choose either McDs or Mang Inasal.

I buy the bag of Angus beef patties at S & R to make my cheese burgers at home. My wife grills them. I don't eat fried chicken here anymore. had a bad experience with one that was not cooked all the way. Wife says that it's either eat a raw one or a dry one that has been left over from the day before. So, now I just grill my chicken. Try the lasagna at S & R it's expensive but delicious. I make my own.

We really do not eat out a lot. Wife has to have rice at every meal, I do not.

You know what I mean ( grin )

i do know what you mean...  completely!

i don't eat out a lot either...  but sometimes i like to go to my girlfriend's and take a pizza or something for the family to enjoy...  me, her, her 2 kids, her mom, her brother and sometimes his son...  so a local pizza isn't going to cut it... i'm in cabantian, she's by the buhangin public market so it's a bit of a round trip to abtreeza but worth it...  and that's by jeepney there and usually taxi back so the pizza is still hot...  lol

when we go to the mall?  if mom is with us, it's m inasal as well...  if her kids are there? jollybee or mcdo's...  if it's just us?  street food!  we both love the street food!  usually in agdao or bankerohn... the best lumpia is actually in matina...  can't remember the street but it's off the highway 2 streets towards downtown from centerpoint...  first shop on the street behind the bank...  (a friend of mine owns a sari sari a few doors down)

99% of the time though?  it's home cooked food from scratch!  right now, i'm trying to figure out how to cook that darn ostrich they sell at agdao...  over an open fire on a spit maybe?  lol!

Ostrich can be really good, for a meat that is so lean.  I've had it baked, with a creamy cheese sauce.  Might be good bbq'd.

Starbucks has an attraction (I guess) to poser types like a lot of young Filipino's, rich kids with lap tops who like to sit around in there for hours. And if I go I will read a free newspaper, but no Starbucks here so I don't go anyway.

A large coffee Grande, even the brewed coffee is 140-180....come on, that's ridiculously over priced as compared to Maccas. In both cases it's good if the coffee is freshly brewed, but Maccas is about 1/4, 25% of the price. And sitting in Maccas reading a free newspaper is also possible.

Can't speak for Aussie land but Starbucks is the same in the USA and Canada. Wait as a matter of fact I can speak for Australia (second hand) my niece is in Sydney and is constantly posting on FB the foo foo drinks and stuff her and her friends are ordering at the "in" coffee shops.

Same the world all over IMHO, working stiff kids sit under a tree, working on a car, drinking a beer. Rich kids sit on a veranda sipping martini's watching lololol:hystery: with their noses up in the air.

Our 2 Starbucks here are good and seem to be the same as the U.S., but I don't get the foo foo coffee drinks.  They probably are not that good at the hot foo foo because not many people order the hot drinks.  I order the regular brewed coffee and have often had to wait while they brew it.  Yes, they are overpriced and honestly I don't know how they get away with it.  However, the Coffee Bean across from Starbuck's here is more expensive and not as good.  I only go once a month or so, mainly because my daughter really likes the honey glazed donut there.

I like the McD coffee.  Same as U.S. McD for me.

We are going off topic!

Back to on topic, deals.

At McD here they have a VIP sticker for drive through, which we use way too much!  You get a free upgrade for all the drinks in your order.
