Popular Post OnMyWay Posted March 27, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 27, 2016 We have had topics on this before. I only bring it up as a reminder that we should always keep things in perspective and not lose it over an order for a burger! Life is short and is much shorter if you blow a vein in your bulging forehead! We went to McD drive thru for lunch on Good Friday and it was really crowded. Subic has been jam packed this weekend. We are in back of a Ford Everest with a foreigner driving. We make our order and are waiting in line for the pay window. The Ford Everest starts honking at the SUV in from of him, trying to get him to pull up a few more feet so the Everest can reach the pay window. I could see the space the SUV had and it was not a lot. He could have pulled up more but it was borderline if he could have pulled up enough. Everest honks a few more times. So he gets up to pay window and proceeds to stay there for 5-10 minutes, arguing with the staff. The manager is there and I don't know what they could have "discussed" for so long. I could not understand. He was yelling and pointing, very red faced. He had the drive thru completely backed up and I am sure by now many people were pissed off. I was tempted to honk but that would have brought me down to his level, and we were actually getting a chuckle out of it. It was so absurd! He finally moves on to the pickup window and we move up to pay. My wife talks to the girl there and asked her if there was a p10,000 error or something like that. She slightly laughs, and says he is a regular and every time he comes, he is like this! We pay and move up behind him. He is at it again at the pickup window. Pointing and yelling. Stays there for 5 minutes or so. He started to pull away once or twice but stopped and kept it up. The sad thing was, it appeared that his daughter was in the back seat, maybe 10-12 years old. I assume his wife was in the front passenger seat. His order was only 1 bag and a few drinks. To me, he looked like a fool. I don't want to live like that. I used to have a lot of stress and one reason I moved here was to reduce it. Once in a while I will get very pissed off but nothing like that, and for much better reasons than a McD order. This McD does have a design flaw that impacts the drive up order taking. The drive thru is in a tunnel for the order and pay window. When you order, your car is rumbling in the tunnel, and the speaker echos somewhat. It is hard for the order taker to hear you, and for you to hear the order taker. For this reason they almost always go over the order before you pay. I have had a lot of orders go wrong but they get fixed. No big deal. No reason to blow up at a simple girl or boy trying to do a job. You order is probably worth more than they make in a whole day! Actually, the staff is very good to us there. Much better than any McD in the U.S. would be. I guess my message is, save your anger for when it is really needed, like to protect your family or something very important. If you lose it over that smallest things, you look like a fool to most people. You might get your way like a baby throwing a tantrum, but you look like a fool to reasonable people. Rant over! Happy Easter!

Popular Post Ram1957 Posted March 27, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 27, 2016 That's when dashcams come in handy. Record it and then post it on youtube. If he's going to make a fool out of himself might as well have the whole world watch.

Hard to say from the rear view of his arm and part of his head popping out of the window, but I would guess between 50 and 60. Apparently he is a resident here (from what the girl said) but I didn't recognize him from the limited view I had. Dave Hounddriver Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Would it be possible to buy a soother, or dummy as we used to call them, wrap it up and give it to the order taking girl and say its a gift for that foreigner next time he comes in and gets grumpy? Tell her it will soothe him and calm him down if she just gives him that gift and says it was from the guy behind him last time.
