hocoa Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 The recent kidnappings of Indonesian sailors by Abu Sayyaf can cause coal shortage in the Philippines and blackouts may be imminent. The Indonesian government has indefinitely banned the shipment of coal to the Philippines. Indonesia has offered help which the Philippines refused. The Philippines is right to dissuade payment of ransom to criminals & terrorists. While the Philippines cannot accept the help of foreign armies, perhaps the Philippines can accept foreign negotiators to come to Mindanao. Mr. Jusuf Kalla, Indonesia’s Vice President, belong to the Bugis ethnic tribe, so he is in the best position to negotiate with Abu Sayyaf because they are mostly descendants of the Bugis tribe from Indonesia.
Dave Hounddriver Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Australia has lots of coal for sale, but after Duterte's latest comments, about severing ties, they may not want to sell it to Philippines.
robert k Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 The US has about 1,000 years worth of coal they would most likely be willing to sell. They will probably sell it to China.

Hi Dave, We are not that thin skinned, we are rather short of funds at the moment, I should contact Philippine Ambassador and get him to have a chat with Julie Bishop, Minister for Trade. Seeing how Australian mining industry is f**ked at the moment (mostly because low iron ore prices vs high wages and cost of mining), im sure Aussis are more than willing to sell the coal to anyone whos got the coin. You wouldn't want for booze or dancing girls and they would probably overlook any little peccadillos like murder and so forth. The state wants the taxes, the multi-billion dollar companies want the sale, especially since most of the US coal fired electric plants are converted or about to be converted to natural gas. The coal producers are quite literally desperate.

Yes even more I think but we quit shipping to China and anywhere else by mandate from.........don't even know but it was done to save the planet for each of us who is here in 1000-1500 when the sea level will be up by five or even ten feet, Of course this will make my property in Fl be worth much, much more. Just have to hang in there and not sell first.
hocoa Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 The breaking news in Indonesia yesterday was the release of 10 Indonesian hostages by Abu Sayyaf http://jakartaglobe.beritasatu.com/news/breaking-ten-indonesians-held-hostage-abu-sayyaf-released-report-says/. In the report, a source confirmed that the terrorist got 50 million pesos. However, in another report, an Indonesian negotiator denied ransom was paid http://time.com/4313815/indonesian-sailors-kidnapped-philippines-abu-sayyaf/. So what is the truth?
